Eternity thats a very long time
\nApparently so the length of this rhyme
\nAnd beyond through our lifetimes
\nPossibly so
\nBut Chernobyl was terror
\nWhich most of us know<\/p>\n
CHernobyl and Prepiat
\nAnd the villages too
\nSome 400,000 evacuees true
\nTainted forever
\nVast swathes are lost
\nUranium and strontium
\nAnd now the cost
\nIn millions of years
\nThe greatest of crimes
\nFor humans ofcourse
\nJust a sign of the times<\/p>\n
It was 600 times worse than Hiroshima
\nVillages were buried
\nSoil carted away
\n600,000 an army of workers
\nNeeded to work on the land
\nDay to day<\/p>\n
In so many life times
\nThis land it will never
\nBe used and be lived upon
\nBy humans for we
\nSee The great mother
\nDoing her damndest to bring
\nBack the wilderness
\nSo wild and free<\/p>\n
Creation can manage
\nIn actuality
\nThe fundamentals are ongoing
\nAnd they
\nCan just be managed
\nLet the wildness of nature
\nFind its own level
\nFor thats the best way<\/p>\n
For us it is over
\nWasted and lost
\nBut what of wild nature
\nHas there been a cost
\nAny ramifications
\nOr with us out of the way
\nPositives happening
\nNow everyday<\/p>\n
Buildings are empty
\nFalling apart
\nBut the flowers and the trees
\nThey are at the heart
\nThey green up the cities and enter
\nThe town
\nsending their tendrils
\nAnd green shoots to drown<\/p>\n
Out all the spaces
\nAnd animals some
\nHave taken up residence
\nA rule of thumb
\nIts very much cooler
\nIn summer to be
\nsheltered
\nThan outside in the hot sun
\nWe see<\/p>\n
NAture in charge
\nRunning the show
\nWithout human beings
\nThings still do grow
\nThe greening of pripiat
\nIts everywhere
\nAnd the animals love it
\nJust to be there<\/p>\n
The forests return
\nThe marshes too
\nThanks to the beavers
\nWhose struggles are true
\nBIson and Deer and a whole host
\nOf souls from boars through to dormice
\nThe most<\/p>\n
But we cannot manage
\nNot in the dead zone
\nWhere wolves and eagles
\nClearly have shown
\nThey live well and eat well
\nAnd live a full life
\nWhere there are no hunters
\nAnd no human strife<\/p>\n
Time waits for no one
\nThat much is true
\nBut the wolves and the animals
\nClearly they do
\nDo better in wilderness than
\nNear to those
\nTheir numbers consistent
\nTo before which just shows<\/p>\n
We may seek little time
\nBut they can be
\nunder their own steam
\nThat Is the key
\n100 wolves live and die
\nIn this place
\nExactly,the same figure
\nWhich is the case<\/p>\n
Clearly its desolate
\nBut very green
\nTrees bending over
\nIn Autumn the scene
\nIs one of
\nThe ungulates eating their way
\nThrough fruit trees and bushes
\nWhere an abundance does play<\/p>\n
Time is a leveller
\nThat maybe so
\nThe buildings are crumbling
\nFrom the weight of the snow
\nBut fruits flowers and berbs
\nIn profusion do climb
\nUp to the sky in the fullness of time<\/p>\n
ContaminAtion it is everywhere
\nScience is there its research it does share
\nThe great eco system apparently thrives
\nWhere there are no humans
\nThe world still survives
\nNo matter how chilling
\nLife can go on
\nThe wildness is beautiful
\nOut there upon<\/p>\n
The fields and the branches
\nGreat blossoms entwine
\nAnd the birds and the bees
\nCome and all seems divine<\/p>\n
No noise no pollution
\nAdded to what
\nChenobyl coughed out
\nAnd clearly they have got
\nThe threats of cancer
\nIn the distance and they
\nIf they work close to this lot
\nAre going to pay.<\/p>\n
But the animals and the plants are coping
