One of a dozen islands
\nAround Japan today
\nWhere cats outnumber people
\nIn relation to the way
\nZEn saw cats as endearing
\nWith a freedom to endow
\nPrivileged and prosperous
\nEach living in the now<\/p>\n
0nly 15 humans live there
\nDay to day
\nAll of them are fisherman
\nBut the cats they have their say
\nTo all intents and purposes
\nThey are the rulers there
\nWholly independent of which they

They hunt and do get fish sometimes
\nIf they are deemed too small
\nOtherwise they all get by
\nClimbing on the wall
\nLiving in a abandoned houses
\nAnd an abandoned school
\nClearly since they rule the roost
\nIts governed by them all<\/p>\n
And they are remarkably healthy
\nAnd tourists visit too
\nSo clearly they get extra food
\nAnd live a life thats true
\nHistoricity apparently is the bedrock
\nAnd the way
\nCats are given suffrage
\nAnd the order of the day<\/p>\n
One boat periodically
\nDelivers their supplies
\nIts a cats nirvana
\nTheir inherency of wise
\nA unity of purpose
\nA brimming of the blessed
\nAble to make their own way
