Look at me
\nI am what I am
\nA wild soul of the field
\nCreated as you all were
\nOn this earth to wield
\nMy blessed life before you
\nAnd a family hopefully
\nUp against the hunters
\nAnd the terriermen
\nWho be
\nOut there causing mayhem
\nAnd a general apathy<\/p>\n
I have a realization
\nThat our evolution must
\nIn actuality be caused
\nIts undeniably unjust
\nTo perpetuate our being
\nAnd then to chase us down
\nTo hunt us as if criminals
\nWith your louts from out of town<\/p>\n
We are the enchanted ones
\nAnd stealthily we creep
\nWith an ability to melt away
\nAnd in our earth homes sleep
\nWe are neither ghost nor phantom
\nWe are flesh and we are blood
\nWe feel pain as you feel pain
\nAnd Will meet you in the mud<\/p>\n
We feed at night
\nAnd do delight
\nIn keeping well away
\nOf course From you human types
\nWhose constant gripes
\nIs trying to make us pay
\nWe sometimes use old marl pits
\nRather than build anew
\nWe let the others make our homes
\nIt just is what we do<\/p>\n
We walk lightly on this shared earth
\nMore so than BRUIN who
\nClamps his feet down in the mud
\nMore so than we do
\nWe really hate to deviate
\nIf there is a path then we
\nFollow it exclusively
\nIts easier you see<\/p>\n
Field margins they just make sense
\nAnd reduce the enemies too
\nAltogether its easier
\nSo it makes our dreams come true
\nA to b in quick time
\nAnd not waste energy
\nWe are foxes afterall
\nNot sightseers you see<\/p>\n
As for smell we have it
\nThe scents are far and wide
\nWe have sophisticated glands
\nWe take them in our stride
\nWe urinate on certain posts
\nAnd gates thats what we do
\nWe communicate with others
\nWe do that all life through<\/p>\n
Our scats are sort of dog like
\nSo we have to take care
\nA lot of humans understand
\nThe dogs and as we share
\nAn Obvious recognition where we let
\nIt go
\nWe have to really understand
\nThe hunter man will know<\/p>\n
In January when freezing
\nWe will be out all day
\nThe vixen she will stay in earth
\nIt is hard to say she just seems to prefer this
\nAnd that is good as well
\nShe can recoup some energy
\nAnd our life then can gel<\/p>\n
Cubs are born in March
\nSo thats a busy time for all
\nYou won’t see us much in daytime
\nWe really stay on call
\nThe cubs are with the vixen
\nThats life apparently
\nWe go to ground the family
\nAnd let the children see<\/p>\n
We can always hear them and smell them
\nWe forage a lot
\nLooking for fruit and carrion
\nThe animals sometimes shot
\nAnd left to rot in underbrush
\nBut the hunters are the
\nones
\nWe watch them and we know they are there
\nInspecting our runs<\/p>\n
And we remain ilusive
\nWe have to run away
\nCaught by hounds and torn to bits
\nIs not a nice display
\nAnd dug out by fhe terrier men
\nThose evil rotten slobs
\nWho dig us out and without a doubt
\nThat is when it robs
\nA fox of all his dignity
\nWatching his vixen beaten
\nAnd possibly his young cubs too
\nAll of them then eaten<\/p>\n
Man un kind is clearly blind
\nHis senses are on hold
\nHis heart is just a muscle
\nAn engine thats gone cold
\nThe terror that they perpetrate
\nAll within their law
\nIs unrelated to reality
\nWhich Apparently they ignore<\/p>\n
Blessed are the hunt sabs
\nThe men and women who
\nGive up their time to assist us
\nFor that is what they do
\nThey have saved a lot of us
\nThe illegal hunts out there
\nWhy they save us we have hope
\nOtherwise despair<\/p>\n
Some of them get beaten up
\nBy the louts that do abound
\nAnd some of those bloody hunters
\nWe have watched them from the ground
\nRode into the saboteurs
\nWe have seen nose bleeds and much more
\nAnd the men in blue are seldom
\nIn the picture too whats more<\/p>\n
And sometimes side with the hunters
\nAll outside the law
\nThen they steal their cameras
\nAll of this and more
\nAnd people turn a blind eye
\nAs these heroes do their thing
\nWomen beaten up by guys
\nWho just like to fling
\nPunches bloooming everywhere
\nIt really isn’t fair
\nThank you sabs human angels
\nThanks for being there<\/p>\n
And MRS MAY or so we hear
\nOne Of those tory toffs
\nIs friendly with land owners
\nAnd like them she scoffs
\nAt angels saving foxes
\nAnd badgers and the rest
\nHares and deers and birds of prey
