{"id":31736,"date":"2017-01-09T16:39:53","date_gmt":"2017-01-09T16:39:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=31736"},"modified":"2017-01-09T16:58:04","modified_gmt":"2017-01-09T16:58:04","slug":"field-theory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/01\/field-theory\/","title":{"rendered":"Field theory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The contraption was huge<br \/>\nLike a mountain of metal<br \/>\nwheels turning and tearing<br \/>\nThe grass at my feet<br \/>\nStretching the corn<br \/>\nBreaking it frighteningly<br \/>\nIt rolled towards me<br \/>\nCoughing out heat<\/p>\n<p>Its rumble like thunder<br \/>\nWhat was it I wonder<br \/>\nAnd me being so small<br \/>\nHow could I get away<br \/>\nThe exhaust on it smelly<br \/>\nLike a great monsters belly<br \/>\nI dived into a hole<br \/>\nAnd in there I did lay<\/p>\n<p>The noise was unbearable<br \/>\nThe light had extinguished<br \/>\nI could hear my heart beating<br \/>\nScaringly I<br \/>\nIt was quite catastrophic<br \/>\nEven philosophic<br \/>\nAnd I was now sure<br \/>\nThat I was going to die<\/p>\n<p>Covered in dust, clouds of it<br \/>\nReally everywhere<br \/>\nThe pods and the leaves<br \/>\nWere all torn into shreds<br \/>\nThe field had been vibrant<br \/>\nAhead of this happening<br \/>\nThe great force of gravity<br \/>\nDestroying the beds<\/p>\n<p>I lay in the hole<br \/>\nShivering wildly<br \/>\nExhausted and worn out<br \/>\nAnd paralysed too<br \/>\nI had lost all my energy<br \/>\nI felt so deflated<br \/>\nJust overwhelmed really<br \/>\nAs what to do<\/p>\n<p>Still feeling vulnerable<br \/>\nFor  I could hear it<br \/>\nThe return of the thunderous roar<br \/>\nSeemed close by<br \/>\nMore stalks were shattered<br \/>\nRipped from their roots<br \/>\nAnd tossed high in the air<br \/>\nJust Like parachutes<br \/>\nfloating<br \/>\nDown gently  and  all around me<br \/>\nIn a dust cloud and I<br \/>\nThought I had gone to the place they call heaven<br \/>\nBut honestly and truthfully didnt know why<\/p>\n<p>I had left home<br \/>\nEarly to have a fresh breakfast<br \/>\nTo play on  the corn stems<br \/>\nAnd swim in the breeze<br \/>\nThe theory of living<br \/>\nOf breathing of giving<br \/>\nWhen all this destruction<br \/>\nAnd a powder filled sky<br \/>\nHappened around me<br \/>\nIt was apocalyptic<br \/>\nAnd how my heart ached<br \/>\nBut I still didnt know why<\/p>\n<p>After A time I bucked up<br \/>\nSome courage<br \/>\nAnd left the hole<br \/>\nTo back track and to see<br \/>\nI lived with my family<br \/>\nDown under the old barn<br \/>\nBut the path and  the corn forest<br \/>\nWhere could it be?<\/p>\n<p>It all had been flattened<br \/>\nThe field it was ruined<br \/>\nThe earth was all chopped up<br \/>\nWith worms everywhere<br \/>\nThe robins and thrushes<br \/>\nWere having a field day<br \/>\nAs for me I Had lost<br \/>\nQuite a bit of my hair<\/p>\n<p>Just by the barn was this<br \/>\nGreat ugly monster<br \/>\nCovered in corn stalks<br \/>\nAnd mud in great lumps<br \/>\nAnd a man in blue overalls<br \/>\nInside there talking<br \/>\nI ran passed the monster<br \/>\nFeeling down in the dumps<\/p>\n<p>And under the barn<br \/>\nTo my home it was still there<br \/>\nMy mother in there making our tea<br \/>\nShe said she had been terribly worried<br \/>\nWhen I didn&#8217;t come back<br \/>\nThen she said to me<\/p>\n<p>The great combine harvester<br \/>\nTore up the fields<br \/>\nMany a mouse perished out there today<br \/>\nAnd everyone thought<br \/>\nThat I too had copped it<br \/>\nAnd were more than surprised<br \/>\nThat I was okay<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The contraption was huge Like a mountain of metal wheels turning and tearing The grass at my feet Stretching the corn Breaking it frighteningly It rolled towards me Coughing out heat Its rumble like thunder What was it I wonder &hellip;
