{"id":31726,"date":"2017-01-08T17:52:43","date_gmt":"2017-01-08T17:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=31726"},"modified":"2017-01-08T18:07:39","modified_gmt":"2017-01-08T18:07:39","slug":"a-place-of-rivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/01\/a-place-of-rivers\/","title":{"rendered":"A place of rivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bangladesh a country full of rivers<br \/>\nThe Padma one mean raging torrent she<br \/>\nSet up by the Himalaya melt water<br \/>\nHitting muddy banks and ruggedly<br \/>\nTearing mud from off those banks and sending<br \/>\nFarm land curling into the river where<br \/>\nThe land is being eaten up by people<br \/>\nWith the river doing its best to counter there<\/p>\n<p>Animals, crops, and houses swallowed forcefully<br \/>\nGAIA taking back and scolding all<br \/>\nTrying hard to avail itself and what we see are refugees<br \/>\nEnvironmental Lost souls hear the  call<br \/>\nMoving down to Dhaka where congestion overflows<br \/>\nIts chaotic on the river I can say<br \/>\nThe streets are just a scramble of so many<br \/>\nVehicles and carts and rickshaws all there in the way<br \/>\nAnd fighting with the ever decreasing land mass<br \/>\nWith heaps of trash now all  along the way<br \/>\nSome stuff tossed in rivers<br \/>\nLying almost anywhere<br \/>\nA muddled smelly melee day in day<\/p>\n<p>A sojurn to a tributary<br \/>\nTo see  some fisherman ply<br \/>\nMaking use of otters<br \/>\nthe result was why oh why?<br \/>\nFor in the night we watched them<br \/>\nNothing for their tea<br \/>\nA couple of tiny goldfish a snail<br \/>\nHow can that be?<\/p>\n<p>Pollution and over fishing<br \/>\nApparently the cause<br \/>\nBack on the boat to DhakA<br \/>\nA highly wasted pause<br \/>\nAnd when we got there just a shambles<br \/>\nNo where left to dock<br \/>\nA hotch potch of many boats<br \/>\nAs we disembarked a block<br \/>\nHemmed us in and so we had to<br \/>\nGet off over those<br \/>\nCloser to the dock itself<br \/>\nCongestion there does pose<\/p>\n<p>A rumpus and a ruction<br \/>\nSo many people there<br \/>\nThe children recycling recycled stuff<br \/>\nIn the chronic air<br \/>\nSlatternly  and messy<br \/>\nEverywhere you look<br \/>\nHeaps of  rubbish being gone through<br \/>\nOther bags were shook<\/p>\n<p>Out came all the contents<br \/>\nrifled through at ease<br \/>\nThe plastic  water bottles<br \/>\nBits of mouldy cheese<br \/>\nCellophane and bits of glass<br \/>\nAll this work and they<br \/>\nWill hardly get a Little bag of rice<br \/>\nNo one does pay<\/p>\n<p>Much for all the effort<br \/>\nWhatever people do<br \/>\nThe children work all<br \/>\nday in factories<br \/>\nFor 30pence Its true!<br \/>\nWork hard in the foundry making<br \/>\nBottles for Korea<br \/>\nAnd living above the factory<br \/>\nIn a, how come its still here<\/p>\n<p>Built with surplus bits and pieces<br \/>\nOrphans they are everywhere<br \/>\nBAngladesh a hell hole<br \/>\nAlmost anywhere<br \/>\nWhen they get a chance to play<br \/>\nKAbaddi is the choice<br \/>\nYou run around and get all hot<br \/>\nAnd ofcourse then raise your voice<br \/>\nGetting hot and bothered<br \/>\nRunning from here to there<br \/>\nThe national  game  so I have heard claim<br \/>\nIs just being more aware!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bangladesh a country full of rivers The Padma one mean raging torrent she Set up by the Himalaya melt water Hitting muddy banks and ruggedly Tearing mud from off those banks and sending Farm land curling into the river where &hellip;
