The plight alas of the grizzly bears
\nWho are also struggling too
\nHibernation time is coming
\nThe bellies of a few
\nAre heaving,
\nwith food slowly digesting
\nOver time
\nbut the pine nuts
\nThat the grizzlies relish
\nThe pine beetles
\nTurn to wine<\/p>\n
These trees
\n300 years of growth
\nSince winter took a dive
\nThe frosts were not as blatant
\nSo more beetles did survive
\nChomping through
\nthose poor hard working trees
\nThe white bark pine
\nAnd many of them have given up the ghost
\nAnd been forced to sign<\/p>\n
Out of this incarnation
\nLeaving the grizzlies to
\nGrizzle over the lack of nuts
\nAnd adopt An alternative view<\/p>\n
In the heat of day
\nto fill their guts
\nWith berries of the field
\nGo where men work ranches
\nhopeful of a yield<\/p>\n
Of berries and of juicy roots
\nTo supplement their fair
\nSo they are having to work
\nMuch harder and are energy aware<\/p>\n
In the hot sun it is gruelling
\nThey have to labour more
\nTo adapt with all these changes
