The drama from the natural world
\nTranscending all of time
\nThe lodge due to its shallowness
\nThe odds were beginning to climb
\nSNake River it was drying up
\nAnd the pond that she had made
\nWith melt water gone rapidly
\nAll the work she had laid<\/p>\n
Down was rapidly wasted by the heat
\nOf the hot sun
\nDespite the lodge being unique
\nWhen the day was done
\nWith 3 children to look after
\nA mother has to be
\nMany steps ahead of disaster
\nShe will see<\/p>\n
She was a super mother
\nAnd uppermost in her mind
\nWas if the pond got shallower
\nThat predators would find
\nHer babies and would eat them
\nAnd so she had to see
\nA way of getting out of this
\nAnd some how be free<\/p>\n
Above on higher cliffs of course
\nWere hungry eagles they
\nObservant of the predicament
\nAnd ready to pounce and play
\nA rude part in their end game
\nSo the drama of the piece
\nWas their mother had to
\nChoose a time and gain their safe release<\/p>\n
In her mind she had constructed
\n5 dams and 5 pools
\nEach one had a crossing
\nShe heard the eagles calls
\nBut in the water they were safe
\nOut if it they were gone
\nAnd so made her break for it
\nAll three were now upon<\/p>\n
Her person and she struggled swimming
\nOff at speed
\nShe climed over three dam sticks
\nAnd up a tributary
\nAnd back into deep water
\nOver rocks and through a stream
\nAnd finally got to the safe place
\nShe had relocated it would seem<\/p>\n
Aware that eyes were on her
\nShe struggled with her breath
\nFaster going faster
\nAware those eyes meant death
\nShe must have lost her heartbeats
\nWhen she got to that pool
\nAnd dived deep with her children
\nSafe and sound and all<\/p>\n
Settled she then proceeded
\nTo create a place to be
\nWhat mothers do for their children
\nSuch valour all could see
\nAll the finishing touches
\nShe rapidly applied
\nAnd all the family once again
