Left to their own devices
\nThe wolves of Chernobyl
\nNuclear power spiked every hour
\nAnd packs of wolves there still
\nDespite the contamination
\nThey are breeding well and seem
\nTo be pleased they see no hunters
\nAnd the forest seems a dream<\/p>\n
They dont have docimeters
\nAnd some of the clicks they hear
\nDont relate to radiation
\nSo nothing there to fear
\nNo hunters in the vicinity
\nAnd, freedom to go
\nIt all just feels like heaven
\nTo them and it seens to show<\/p>\n
A completely empty city
\nTrees and fields and they
\nAre overgrown with wild plants
\nAnd garden flowers that stray
\nThis way that way everyway
\nThey have the freedom to
\nGrow anywhere they want
\nIn life and mostly that is true<\/p>\n
Life’s cycle thus continues
\nPredator and prey
\nThe animals seem happy
\nIn their own sweet way
\nSome resort to using the buildings
\nThat were left
\nBut others stay in forest dens
\nTotally bereft<\/p>\n
Of any human contact
\nAnd so the city seems
\nTo slowly be re natured
\nWith really teams and teams of wild plants
\nWeeds and herbs and flowers
\nKicking humanity out
\nNurturing the environment
\nNow without a doubt<\/p>\n
Some wolves have been collared
\nTested and appear
\nHAppy enough to be living
\nWith few humans to fear
\nClearly they are attracting
\nRadiation but they
\nAre apparently still healthy
\nAs they go about each day<\/p>\n
Not concerned about the nuclear stuff
\nCarrying on their life
\nBuilding for their future
\nAnd not dwelling on the strife
\nIt seems that is a human problem
\nAnd wolves some yea may die
\nBut they dont care a monkeys
\nAnd possibly that is why<\/p>\n
They dont go to doctors and hospitals
\nAnd they
\nDont drink or smoke or go insane
\nWe can learn and may
\nLear a lot from Chernobyl
\nFrom the wild souls that live there
\nUndergoing terror
