{"id":31455,"date":"2017-01-01T11:07:20","date_gmt":"2017-01-01T11:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=31455"},"modified":"2017-01-01T11:17:17","modified_gmt":"2017-01-01T11:17:17","slug":"what-is-ancient-about-the-forest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/01\/what-is-ancient-about-the-forest\/","title":{"rendered":"What is ancient about the forest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lichens stamp their mark and give the air such purity<br \/>\nCreating such emotion out of true longevity<br \/>\nIn passages below the ground webs of fungal fruit<br \/>\nVAliant corms sprout everywhere in readiness to root<br \/>\nGreat fronds of moss and air plants hanging as they do<br \/>\nRich yet very sensitive magickal all through<br \/>\nSo much beauty in the mystery of ancientness  whose grace<br \/>\nEvolves to draw each challenge at a less demanding pace<br \/>\nA panoramic vision encapsulated by a window dressed by nature<br \/>\nWith its backdrop of the sky<\/p>\n<p>In whose footsteps do we venture as our lungs are forced to share<br \/>\nThe truly peaceful outcome of really being there<br \/>\nSubmerged in all that softness mellowed by the true<br \/>\nInfluence of nature that obviously does woo<br \/>\nThe wildness of creation and its relation to the whole<br \/>\nWinter is upon us in our age old stroll<br \/>\nThe whiteness as the pheonix emerges from the snow<br \/>\nIts wings encased in the coldest frost that anyone does know<\/p>\n<p>The trees each vast encounter root systems in the air<br \/>\nTheir vigour and their fervour can be felt  now everywhere<br \/>\nBlooming bouncing healthy progressive throughout time<br \/>\nA dormancy and a rousing of the great encircling vine<br \/>\nIts time that has the whip hand inspiring every flow<br \/>\nMomentous and decisive as slowly it doth grow<br \/>\nInto a gorgeous kingdom of fable and of prose<br \/>\nWith diadems of sparkling frosts that so redden our nose<\/p>\n<p>And space its all wide ranging a tangle of desire<br \/>\nNature the great sculptor draws rings growing higher<br \/>\nThe canopy is dense with life with greenery galore<br \/>\nAll covered in an ermine coat of lichens from before<br \/>\nMan could fly above it all,before all that when he<br \/>\nCould just about crawl on all fours and definately not see<br \/>\nThe wonders that were growing before all that we stand<br \/>\nOn soil that the great reptiles sank their feet in<br \/>\nThat same land<\/p>\n<p>Drapes and droops are everywhere<br \/>\nTrailing strings of green<br \/>\nOf purple and of rainbow colours<br \/>\nTendrils from the bean<br \/>\nSpiders webs great masking traps<br \/>\nLittered with the souls<br \/>\nWho fell into the cauldron and took on different roles<br \/>\nThe symmetry of winter whose  brush strokes dust the trees<br \/>\nThistles and thorns are everywhere protecting while  they please<br \/>\nEverywhere unusual forms gape  and yawn away<br \/>\nPoetry in motion on a rather icy day<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lichens stamp their mark and give the air such purity Creating such emotion out of true longevity In passages below the ground webs of fungal fruit VAliant corms sprout everywhere in readiness to root Great fronds of moss and air &hellip;
