\nIs alive but alone with its thoughts
\nIts a horse in a world of upheavel
\nIn a place where there’s pressure to win
\nAll investment is based on accual
\nAnd if that doesn’t happen the thin
\nEdge of the wedge becomes actual
\nThese animals these days are kept
\nOn a diet of so many medicines
\nTo try snd make charges adept<\/p>\n
Again it is lacking understanding
\nOf what these drugs actually do
\nWhat is their overall energy level
\nAnd how it bypasses the true
\nAnd then combinations can alter
\nLike perceptions for how they must be
\nThey might be performance related
\nBut they clash with the mean energy<\/p>\n
Live animals that become products
\nIn a business that does have to win
\nIs putting great stress on the animal
\nAnd the trainers as such and the sin
\nWill develop for out there
\nAre the rich who invest yes a lot
\nBut they want returns pretty quickly
\nAnd a live animal hasnt got<\/p>\n
The where for all to understand this
\nHe will be trained and run where he can
\nBut we all have off days and thats when we lose
\nBut of course thats not part of a plan

\nAnd the winnings are what its about
\nOf course when a horse doesnt make it
\nHis future will then be in doubt<\/p>\n
Racing is all about betting
\nIts all about money and where
\nTheres money around then what will be found
\nIs the criminals who are aware
\nDoping snd hoping using abusing
\nGetting one over on those
\nEach has a balance sheet i guess thats so
\nAnd if you are losing
\nThen you have to go<\/p>\n
And its not to a sanctuary
\nYou can be sure
\nIt will be to the slaughterhouse
\nDont lets ignore
\nHorse meat is prevalent everywhere
\nSold off as beef by those who dont care<\/p>\n
I have looked after horses a lot in the past
\nWhen they are happy life is a blast
\nBut all of these drugs and big pharma too
\nLets face it they are in it to make money too
\nAnd this doesnt auger well with the live soul
\nWho suffer a great deal a race takes its toll
\nTremendous stresses on legs and on feet
\nAnd argy bargy its never that sweet<\/p>\n
I never bet thats something in me
\nNot even a sweepstake for abuse I can see
\nThey turn a blind eye to it much of the time
\nBut the figures of deaths in America climb
\n24 horses die every week
\nAnd remember most of them
\nAre at their peak
\nSupposedly well fed and trained we believe
\nBut out on the track chance does not leave
\nAnd if they fall, its bang they are dead
\nIts a very cruel pastime and that being said<\/p>\n
The rich and the famous are clearly embroiled
\nThe jockeys the race tracks the trainers well oiled
\nThe punters the coverage the media too
\nIt all a big business with dreams that come true
\nOr do they a lot dont and victims then be
