Who imagines animals
\nwere not conscious or aware
\nonly those who tortured them
\nand ate them
\nI can’t bear
\nthat ignorance
\nFor that is what it is
\nI have to say
\nww don’t need rocket scientists
\nto tell us the time of day
\nthey come out with their long words
\nonly to confuse
\ncall yourself a scientist
\nand then you can believe
\nthat any thing you tell us
\nis fact and will achieve
\nthe great response your’e
\nafter
\nwell I’m sorry chum not me
\nthere’s more to life than science
\nand thought can still be free
\nthere’s the freedom to have one’s own
\nthoughts
\nand sentient judgement too
\nand not wait for the edicts
\nthat emanate from you
\ndependent upon whose paying
\nwhich has a lot to do with how
\nthe message is reported
\nso whether Pig or Cow
\nto tell us that their conscious
\nyou’ll get no claps from me
\nso despite your neocortex
\nand their lack of it, I be
\nwholly understanding that animals
\npossess more sentient qualities
\nthan our carnivores
\nand would stress
\nthey look away
\nwhilst others torture them and gain
\nkingdom over seeing them
\nwrithing in great pain
\nin Factory Farms and Fur Farms
\nthey are, driven mad
\ncaged up, not fed properly
\nand although that’s very bad
\nGovernment turn its eyes away
\nand leaves them to that plight
\nanal slaughter and or gassing
\nall done out of sight
\nevery soul has feeling
\nevery soul feels pain
\nsome make lots of noise about it
\nothers just restrain
\ntheir bleating’s, for the ether
\nfor Factory farms can’t hear
\nand corporates with their
\nbalance sheets and their
\nshareholders, appear
\nthe instigators, really, to the
\nmyth that goes around
\nthat farm animals are dead
\nfrom the neck up
\nwhich does astound
\nthe likes of any vegan or farmer
\nfor they know
\nthat each has their own
\ncharacter
\nwhich changes as they grow
\nno different from the so called
\nhumans, I venture to say
\nand perhaps those eating animals
