I am Tomi a bear
\nAn Albanian bear
\ni lived in the mountains
\nI was so aware
\nNorth of Tirana
\nImmortal was I
\nI could sit I could stand
\nAnd look up at the sky<\/p>\n
Nothing to worry me
\nThe mountains were mine
\nI loved getting wet
\nAnd when the sun did shine
\nI loved the spring water
\nThe trees and the flowers
\nWhere I used to be
\nI would lie there for hours<\/p>\n
Then one day it happened
\nI was darted and I
\nWas taken to a restaurant
\nAnd there I did lie
\nBeing watched by the patrons
\nI, the novelty
\nIn isolation
\nAnd so far from free<\/p>\n
They fed me on crisps
\nOn ale and on sweets
\nSometimes on nothing
\nSo I got no treats
\nJust an empty stomach
\nAnd conflict for me
\nThats when I realised
\nI might never walk free<\/p>\n
It was monotonous
\nEveryday different people
\nOf course but they say
\nAlmost the same thing
\nNothing to do
\nTerrible food
\nSticky with goo
\nOr salty the crisps
\nThat caught in my throat
\nSome gave me chewing gum
\nNothing of note<\/p>\n
It stuck in my fur
\nIt just made me mad
\nTo be a novelty
\nIts truly sad
\nWith no exercise
\nAnd terrible food
\nI had all sorts of pains
\nAnd just to be viewed
\nWell you just need to hide
\nYou dont want to see
\nAll those sick eyeballs
\nStaring at thee<\/p>\n
And when they are eating
\nThe hunger it grows
\nThe juices start running
\nWe have a good nose
\nYou can so smell the food
\nBut you have nothing to eat
\nIt gnaws at your soul
\nAnd you feel incomplete<\/p>\n
All that salt makes you dry
\nBut with nothing to drink
\nNo stream to go to
\nNo where to think
\nSuffering so
\nWatching humans indulge
\nSmelling the smells
\nAnd watching them bulge<\/p>\n
Then one day they came for me
\nIt was four paws
\nThanks to the MAil
\nThat started my cause
\nI was then rescued and taken away
\nAnd am now in a sanctuary
\nWhere I can stay<\/p>\n
Somewhere in Kosovo
\nIt is sublime
\nTrees I can rub myself on
\nTo pass time
\nOut in the open
\nIts lovely to be
\nTasting the air snd the
\nFlowers that grow free<\/p>\n
There are lots of other bears
\nChained up somewhere
\nLike me feeling really so much despair
\nBut I was a lucky bear
\nThanks to four paws
\nAnd the daily mail
