When they are down and out and lonely
\nNo parents around
\nNo one wants to know a child
\nWho just Sleeps on the ground
\nWhere ever really he is
\nThats where he beds down
\nPreferably somewhere sheltered
\nIn a shop front in some town<\/p>\n
Some seek refuge in a tip
\nUntil the policeman comes
\nAnd moves us on they want us gone
\nMe and all my chums
\nNo where to go not much to do
\nBut see what we can find
\nAnd sell off to somebody
\nIf we have the mind<\/p>\n
Some times we go to tourist places
\nThe hotels for out back
\nThe bins are full of stale food
\nSo when I am on my jack
\nI climb inside the great big bins
\nTo see what I can find
\nAnything thats edible and theres lots
\nTo blow ones mind<\/p>\n
I found a pack of cigarettes which I swapped
\nFor some bread
\nAll sorts of things are in these bins
\nSo clearly I get well fed
\nThe problem is the security
\nThey chase me away
\nThey would rather have me starving
\nThan taking bin stuff away<\/p>\n
Laying in a rubbish heap
\nLike so much junk about
\nThere is no place to wash away
\nThe grime and there is no doubt
\nFor me my life is over
\nEver since my mother died
\nAnd my step father just turfed me out
\nAnd just bloody lied<\/p>\n
Said that I had run away
\nAnd he got off scot free
\nAnd I was left out on the streets
\nWith no one to love me
\nI cry a lot what else is there
\nBut cry and hope one day
\nSomeone is prepared to take me in
\nA new mum lets say<\/p>\n
But up to now there is nobody
\nSo nothing left for me
\nBut carry on this street life
\nAnd hang around and see
\nIf someone will give me a chance
\nLook after me a while
\nFor breaking rocks and stealing shit
\nIs really not my style<\/p>\n
