there
A kind of seventh heaven
A fulfilment in a way
A snugness and a comfort
To the golden days of play

The complete exhilaration
The frolic and the glee
To be with those that love
You wherever in the sea
That holds so much bewilderment
To creatures big and small
Devotion in the ocean
Is everything that’s all

My mother truly loved me
My aunts and uncles too
The pod was like an army
Security was true
Protection was a high point
Whereever we did go
All for one and one for all
Always in the flow

Custodians of welfare
Protectors of the young
Tutors guardians defenders
We were safe among
All the various interests
A garrison of sorts
A charmed life in so many ways
Especially near the ports

DOlphins do have feelings
Are mindful in every way
We are mammals we breath air
And come up for it each day
Our sensory perception is heightened
Through and Through
We are all advanced beings
For that is what we do

And that gives us a level
Of love for elders who
Swim with us and teach us
Really what to do
We have an instinctive library
Of knowledge when we are born
Which our mothers then can stimulate
Forming a new dawn

Of consequence within us
And our feeling will endure
With an overwhelming love for all
No matter what the lure
No matter what the danger
We stick together, we
Have the sweetest feelings
For each other
That can be

Everyone is a hero
With a spirit good and strong
Aesthetic and fastidious
We know that we belong
Within our pod our language
Is particular to us all
We use echo location
Our sound is like a wall

It goes out and we see with it
Depth weight we all know
And being sensitive to sounds
That can be a blow
The Japanese those trophy hunting scum
Around TAIJI
send banging boats
To fool us
To panic us, to be

After us we know that
And so we really try
To keep away from the coastal waters
For we know, we can die
And they are the greatest torturers
Cruel and nasty guys
Who pith our spines
And wound us so
More than you realise

The killing cove they call it
Green tarps behind them we
Are slaughtered in such agony
And drown regrettably
In our own blood imagine that
They bang a plug into
The hole they Make
For our own sake
yes that is what they do

We know sisters that we have
Lost
And the ones that got away
Who tell us what is happening
Around that cove and bay
It’s the Risso’s and the striped ones
And us the bottle nose
Who suffer inexplicably
As the victim number grows

I was with my mother
Swimming closely by her side
In the glorious ocean
Somewhere I could hide
With so much expectation
Of her promise and her care
When there was a great cacophony
Of violence all could share

Ravaged by the tedium
The drumming that we heard
All thrown into panic
As to what occurred
Realising too late
The banger boats were near
Causing such diruption
And really so much fear

I tried to stay with mother
With this ringing in my soul
We were being driven
By the bashing on the pole
We knew exactly what it was
And our sentient quality
Increased its vigour in our brains
Causing agony

And so we went along with it
Hoping to get away
But it became apparent
We were closer to the bay
A wretchedness took over
The water quality
Wasn’t It as clean
As it ought to have been
And we didn’t feel so free

But mother didn’t panic
She was comforting and I
Was hopeful we could get away
Well we all were going to try
There is boldness In A dolphin pod
Gallant through and through
We never let each other down
For that’s the Dolphins view

We fight but are not aggressive
We have feelings and we care
But this audacious hunting
Was anything but fair
These craven hearted Japanese
Are Very very cruel
Unworthy to be human
For they break every rule

And then they took my mother
Split us up and she
Was taken to a pen with yellow floats
They then took me
And left me with her in this pen
But do you know what they do
They killed her in front of me
Honestly that was true

That’s how I lost my mother
She was beautiful to see
She loved me like no other
She was beautiful to me
And I had to witness
What those bastards did
They Cut her down
I Watched her bleed out slowly
Watched my mother drown

I could taste her blood
For I was swimming in it, she
Was dead just floating upside down
Lifeless what of me
Well of course I am a baby
Not much meat on me
And certainly not much blubber
So what was it going to be

You may know they have quotas
For 2000 or so souls
Murdered every season
To make their so called goals
They really want the heavier ones
More flesh more profit so
They went and cut my head off
I would no longer grow

To be a lovely dolphin
That was my end that day
And slung into one of those skiffs
To dump me far away
I remember crying terribly
When my poor mum died
I thought perhaps that I could
Commit suicide

Not come up for air no more
Drown in mothers blood
But I didn’t have her where for all
And then I felt that thud

And you know, it was all over
My spirit had flown free
I met up again with mother though
At the rainbow bridge we be
Once again a swimming just spirits yes its true
I have come back quickly
Just to talk to you

So many dolphin spirits
And other fishes too
Trillions of us swim the spirit seas
That’s what we do
If you have the inclination
To realise our fate
Perhaps you could tell others
To Leave us off your plate

B where for all

The
