The disharmony of excavation
\nThe chaos of it all
\nBoreal forests wasted
\nTheir systematic fall
\nThat great expanse and web of life
\nThat Was Infact once there
\nTorn up and destroyed by those
\nWho were totally unaware<\/p>\n
A total rape was underway
\nA monstrosity was born
\nThey scarred the earth forever
\nRoot systems all were torn
\nOut exposing the bitumen
\nThe sand and all about
\nAn industry of evil
\nThat Answered to the shout<\/p>\n
Tar sands stretched out enormously
\nFor many thousand miles
\nThere would be no restoration
\nAnd who now reconciles
\nThe ugliness the vile intent
\nTo strip the top soil bare
\nTo corrupt the natural construct
\nAlmost everywhere<\/p>\n
There is nothing about eternal
\nIt’s a prolongation stream
\nOf a now endless duration
\nYou will hear the age long scream
\nIt’s unending it goes on and on
\nGreat wounds which can be seen
\nFrom space or so some now do say
\nThose I think who have been<\/p>\n
It’s persistent and enduring
\nEntrenched in the dark
\nIt really is unceasing
\nHow it’s left this Mark
\nThis vacuum this sterility
\nIt took an unconscious mind
\nIn the long run there is money

\nBut we will find<\/p>\n
The costs is gaia’s regeneration
\nPowerless in a way
\nStripped of all emotions
\nAnd then being made to pay
\nA really bloodless exercise
\nIn how one shouldn’t be
\nGuided or decided
\nBased on the infamy<\/p>\n
The so called origination
\nAt break neck speed it came
\nNo long incubation
\nSo no one to take blame
\nWhat was such destruction
\nThe undoing of the whole
\nTo me a cataclysmic setback
\nAnd a suicidal role<\/p>\n
Clay minerals and water
\nAn ocean far below
\nWe abrogate the obvious
\nAnd let the waters flow
\nThe luxuriance and lushness
\nWas gone for evermore
\nAnd in its place
\nWas purgatory
\nJust showing his face<\/p>\n
Canada was earning
\nSuch vigour filled the sky
\nIt enlivened and it forcibly
\nSent thunderbolts on high
\nThe violence of destruction
\nAn outburst of desire
\nEverything was turmoil
\nThe tempest in the fire<\/p>\n
A great space was then flattened
\nA wilderness so wild
\nIt stretched across horizons
\nAnd soon became reviled
\nFor all of the pollution
\nThat stretched from near to far
\nInto the bowels and out again
\nAn abyssal cavernous scar
\nSubmerged and sunk and deep as hell
\nTrenches everywhere
\nBottomless pits of profundity
\nAnd of course darkest despair<\/p>\n
And onwards to a further place
\nWhere the sand is all washed free
\nTo form the crudest darkest oil
\nThat ever there could be
\nCanada must look back on
\nThe forest that was there
\nAnd realise to have created this
\nThe water and the air
\nIs significantly damaged
\nAnd the people around a bout
\nMust be really worrying
