Roadside zoo’s often abuse
\nTheir charges as we know
\nAnd it comes to mind
\nNow how we find
\nThe time to let them show
\nCubs yes little tiger cubs
\nStolen from their mums
\nPulled through the wire meshing
\nThis treatment it just numbs<\/p>\n
Animals rights completely
\nWe suffer from their pain
\nThe monotony of captivity
\nThey have nothing to gain
\nZoo’s are making money
\nIn any way they can
\nThe victims are the little Cubs
\nWhose lives go down the pan<\/p>\n
Their interrupted sequence
\nOf living we can see
\nThey feel they are not belonging
\nThe irregularity
\nOf Natural care and loving
\nThat the tigress gives by right
\nThe companionship and caring
\nAnd the unity of light<\/p>\n
Tigers are light bearers
\nAs William Blake once said
\nThis comes from their upbringing
\nChaperoned and fed
\nBy their loving mother
\nIt’s an absolute need
\nIt’s measureless it’s limitless
\nFor the babies to succeed<\/p>\n
Watching them a
\nMan handled
\nDisrespected by
\nHandlers who need kicking
\nFor them to apply
\nSome caring they are ugly
\nAnd their priority
\nIs seeing to the balance sheet
\nThat’s, if you ask me<\/p>\n
Photo opportunities with
\nTravellers who ply
\nWho want their pictures taken
\nOr who cuddle them
\nAnd why
\nDo people cuddle tiger cubs
\nIt makes no sense to me
\nWhat is their expectation
\nIs it contemporary<\/p>\n
The old ways were the best ways
\nA permanence of care
\nEnduring and progressive
\nThat a mother is always there
\nNurturing and mentoring
\nAnd loving all the while
\nGiving them stability
\nAs a constant as a style<\/p>\n
Making Cubs swim in a tank
\nWith patrons this to me
\nIs ridiculous behaviour
\nAnd their inability
\nTo swim or want to swim
\nShould show the patrons
\nIt is wrong
\nWhat they expect from animals
\nJust does not belong<\/p>\n
In their precious psyche
\nThey are babies after all
\nTaken from their mothers
\nFrom their teachers who they call
\nOn to provide some sustenance
\nSome matriarchal flair
\nTo invigorate and energise
\nSo everyone’s aware<\/p>\n
The violence that we notice
\nForcing Cubs to do
\nSomething that is alien
\nAnd they will sicken to
\nSuch action on their person
\nIt’s alien and wrong
\nIn a cage or in a bath
\nThese tigers don’t belong<\/p>\n
Tigers they are solitary
\nThey move in their own space
\nThey do travel long distances
\nAnd at quite a pace
\nSo bringing them up to be cuddled
\nBy humans off the street
\nIt’s superficiality
\nIt never is a treat<\/p>\n
Their bedrock is their mother
\nShe underpins their soul
\nSupports them through their sickness
\nShe takes on the role
\nOf the matriarch
\nTheir traveller
\nTheir direction she will set
\nIt radiates around them
\nAnd they are in her debt<\/p>\n
Road side zoo’s are amateurs
\nThey do not have a clue
\nAs I say its about money
\nThat is what they do
\nCut corners stomp up arrogance
\nWhilst ignorant as hell
\nAll the wrong food given
\nA really darkly spell<\/p>\n
They really should be closed down
\nIt is the only way
\nTigers are wild animals
\nAnd it matters what I say
\nThey all are living beings
\nWith feeling and need care
\nAnd a constant spark of vitality
