A family outing to the woods
\nAn idyllic atmosphere
\nChildren with their parents
\nAnd a tiny little deer
\nLying in the soft leaves
\nClearly shot right through
\nA doe a Dee and female deer
\nWhat would they want to do<\/p>\n
That I ask my inner child
\nMy certain frame of mind
\nWith natures bounty everywhere
\nAnd all of it underlined
\nHow Anyone would take a gun
\nAnd end this babies life
\nCause it’s mother agony
\nAnd cause so many strife<\/p>\n
Oh it’s all about experience
\nThe sensation of death
\nThat sensory perception
\nAs the poor beast fought
\nFor breath
\nAs its lungs collapsed
\nAs the fury rose
\nAs death with his sickle came
\nThe beauty of the moment
\nAnd nobody to blame<\/p>\n
All that understanding
\nAnd all on film to see
\nClap the babies little hands
\nShow him how to be
\nA man is it a real man
\nWhen he grows up he will
\nCome out in the forest
\nAnd anything he can kill<\/p>\n
It’s passionate it’s impressive
\nTo gun down a baby deer
\nIt’s rapturous and ecstatic
\nTo see it lying here
\nTo touch it’s still warm body
\nThe finer feeling there
\nTo cut the body open
\nAnd all its organs share<\/p>\n
The stupor of the moment
\nA family lost in awe
\nA bunch of bloody philistines
\nMore akin to war
\nInsensitive to a mother
\nWho would have lost her doe
\nIcebergs walking on two legs
\nAs anyone can know<\/p>\n
Unconscious of the moment
\nUnresponsive to my call
\nIntoxicated by the sight
\nOf something dead that’s all
\nIf only it was still alive
\nIn peace and in the wood
\nIf only we could turn back time
\nThat would be so good<\/p>\n
Look children there is a baby deer
\nFeeding gently there
\nIsn’t it really beautiful
\nFor us to be aware
\nOf nature and creation
\nNow wouldn’t that be a treat
\nBut no it’s Bang your dead mate
\nYour death is now our treat<\/p>\n
10 minutes you all sat there
\nThe patience you displayed
\nClearly a born hunter
\nOne of the stocks in trade
\nThe fierceness of this monster
\nThe fright of killing it
\nCutting back its little life
\nWith all your hunting shit<\/p>\n
And no regret just happiness
\nNo self reproach can we
\nImagine coming from this crowd
\nThe illusion of the free
\nNo ones apologetic
\nThough I am mortified
\nFeeling your exultation
\nThat another soul has died<\/p>\n
The finality of death
\nThe wail of woe and pain
\nLooking up and seeing
\nA bunch of the insane
\nShooting at one’s baby
\nSeeing it laying dead
\nKicking just a little
\nThat really has led<\/p>\n
The mother to be beside herself
\nWhereas the human souls
\nAre happiness personified
\nEach taking their roles
\nAssassins of the forest
\nThrenodic through and through
\nLet’s gut the beast
\nIt’s all on film
\nThat’s what hunters do<\/p>\n
Children being carried
\nHave eyes and minds of course
\nTheir little hearts so mindful
\nOf what is the full force
\nThey see but cannot express their thoughts
\nThey have all been shouted down
\nBy the big adults all such insults
\nEspecially the clown<\/p>\n
The tedium of watching
\nThe uninspired awake
\nTheir wearisome suggestions
\nI think they all are fake
\nBeing actually mindful
\nOf the forest and those there
\nWould rather sink down on their knees
