There are many dusty tomes around
\nProbably visited by
\nwhat used to be the bookworm
\nBut Being afraid to fly<\/p>\n
The indian meal moth cometh
\nClearly the need to learn
\nSick of all that muesli
\nAnd filled with such concern<\/p>\n
Those lives spent out of digital
\nWithout the electric span
\nDealing just with candlelight
\nAnd daylight which would pan<\/p>\n
Out across the universe
\nInventive clearly and
\nMany a sonnet cleared the page
\nAnd never again would land<\/p>\n
Up there in the realms
\nof myriad strangers
\nPointers in their own lives
\nlet us say
\nReally building sacred stairways
\nReally pushing out the frontiers
\nReally making for a lovely day<\/p>\n
Let me try and chat a while
\nTo a poet Of his day
\nIn A garret flight above a store
\nWith his quill he
\nMade it pay<\/p>\n
From his own imagination
\nThe need for inventiveness
\nTo envisage and to romanticize
\nAnd fictionalise no less<\/p>\n
And with this great abundance
\nA spirit and a form
\nEclipsed the powers of reason
\nAnd of course heartstrings did warm<\/p>\n
and sweet melodies were forthcoming
\nA lineage of star lights here to stay
\nInspiration like an enormous thunderbolt
\nThat filled their nights and every single day<\/p>\n
And so it always will be
\nThe poets of their time
\nThey knelt in prayer most of them
\nOr courted their lady divine<\/p>\n
with their etiquette and of course no shower
\nTheir perfume to admire
\nA need for flowery adjectives
\nWith verbs that would catch fire<\/p>\n
And so this supposition
