In Factory farms
\nHumanity
\nhas all but,
\nbeen filed away
\nthe human spirit
\nvanquished
\nits the price
\nwe’ve had to pay<\/p>\n
for sharing this existence
\nwith the corporate world,
\nwhere sin
\nwhere ugly
\nscenes of torture
\nand where rape
\nand death begin<\/p>\n
to take over
\nwhat freedoms
\nthe earthlings ever had
\nand turn their world
\ncompletely upside down
\nand completely mad<\/p>\n
The vastness
\nof these horrors
\nspread out for all to see
\nthe fear
\nthat’s in the eyes of those
\nwho stand their
\nsilently<\/p>\n
huddled close together
\nfeeling very ill
\nwondering when
\nthe end will come
\nand fed on
\npill after pill
\nno sunlight
\non their sore backs
\nno fresh air
\nthey can taste
\nno green grass
\nthey can chew upon
\ntheir simple lives
\ndebased<\/p>\n
The environment
\nthat we all share
\npolluted too, for we
\nsee great lakes of manure
\na fermenting deadly brew
\nleaking into farmland
\nand also used to spray
\nwhat a vile concoction
\nwhere blue bottles
\ndo play<\/p>\n
huge, great colour headed flies
\nconsuming this distress
\nthis woeful ugly dark morass
\nthat few dare to confess
\nas being now on offer
\ndisease, apparently
\nvery much now on the cards
\nHow we’ve messed up, actually<\/p>\n
allowing these great monsters
\nto take over our land
\nto kick out the small farmers
\nwhich I fail, to understand
\nexcept the public have bought into
\nthe hyper super store
\nwho exist by putting pressure
\non the price
\nlike ne’er before<\/p>\n
And so the mechanization is rampant
\neverywhere
\nfrom grassy fields the cows are kept
\non concrete pads they stare
\nat concrete walls
\nfed measured GM soya wodge’s, they
\nget this dried mysterious muck
\nand get it night and day<\/p>\n
dosed up, with antibiotics
\nwith hormones and the rest
\npurely walking experiments
\nwhere docility is blessed
\nGiant trucks are rumbling
\nto the abattoirs
\ncarrying the sick
\nand fearful brood
\nwith lifetime scars<\/p>\n
tortured,ped
\nand dosed up to the eyeballs
\nand treated to a life
\nso very crude
\ndespised and even tortured
\njust for being
\njust for seeing
\nwhat frustration viewed<\/p>\n
Humanity, hits the,
\ncentral reservation
\nand lives are lost,
\nits carnage to be sure
\nthe animals many of them
\nare just victims
\nthe environment is too,
\nbut there is more<\/p>\n
the consumers are not getting
\nwhat they think they are
\nfor the victims are dosed
\nup with so much, they
\ndon’t know where they coming from
\nthey are so very sick
\nLame, sores, lack of caring
\nday after day<\/p>\n
The factory farms are growing
\nexponentially
\nswallowing up the fertile
\nlands of old
\nvaried grasses and organic wild plants
\nsoon laid bare, and worthless as the
\ncows have all been sold<\/p>\n
costs and margins
\nseem to be key factors
\nthat corporates
\nnow concentrate most on
\nthe animal is a commodity
\nthere to be subjected
\nto an overhaul of principle
\nupon<\/p>\n
Man is not beguiling any longer
\nhe is far removed from the human
\nwe believed
\nwalked this earth in sympathy for others
\nhis sanity can never be retrieved
\nhis insistence of a margin
\nabove everything
\nlowers his good standing
\nto a point
\nwhere humanity apparently
\nwon’t re surface
\nand what he has become
