\nIt celebrates the river goddess
\nOShun and what she’s done
\nYellow is her colour
\nOr gold and copper too

Many walk in procession
\nIt’s the cleansing of the town
\nThe indigenous some tourists
\nIt’s really going down
\nWell it’s getting sponsors
\nFrom governments and they
\nPut money into keeping it going do to say<\/p>\n
The indigenous ways ere failing
\nBut Its not strictly true
\nNot everybody understands
\nWhat it is they do
\nBut there are lots of stories
\nShe’s the patroness of spells
\nOf love or romance and marriage
\nThe celebration tells<\/p>\n
That she is the Aphrodite
\nOf Africa and Cuba
\nAnd also of the river water
\nEven from Aruba
\nPeople come to celebrate
\nAnd what some people say
\nIs when she’s happy
\nThings are good
\nBut her temper flies away
\nAnd then she causes problems
\nIt’s interesting to see
\nPeople following ancient crafts
\nAnd traditions actually<\/p>\n
Ancient crafts are everywhere
\nKnowledge handed down
\nNot a lot is written
\nShe never wore a crown
\nBut yellow beads of amber
\nApparently signify
\nThe handkerchiefs the goddess wore
\nTo attract her special guy<\/p>\n
the procession goes to a secret grove
\nClearly a sacred place
\nOn Isese day the worshippers
\nAre the first to show their face
\nSo here we have a celebration
\nFrom Nigeria and we
\nCan see people from all over come
