We’re good at making
\nup long words, to describe
\nwhat most fail to attain
\nrespect for the farm animals
\nthat know about the joy of pain
\nthey huddle close and live
\nshort lives
\nimprisoned in
\ntheir concrete cell
\nindustrialised facilities
\nwe share, our share of Hell.<\/p>\n
we fail we do fail
\nmiserably
\nto understand how they
\nfeel
\neach is a character
\nwith emotions
\nbut we pay
\nso little
\ntrue attention
\nto what and how
\nthey feel
\nand tragically some take out
\ntheir frustrations too
\nfor real
\ntail docking
\nand teeth clipping
\nthey remove
\ntheir testicles by
\nhand, no anaesthetics
\njust a tug
\nthey hear no cry
\nits there
\nbut they can’t hear it
\nthey give pain
\nbut can’t take it
\nno respect whatever
\nand if its there
\nthey fake it<\/p>\n
Animals have wisdom
\nanimals feel pain
\nso what is it
\nthat human beings
\nthink that they can gain
\nby treating them so badly
\nby feeding them so dire
\nby giving them the chemicals
\nand branding them with fire<\/p>\n
animals stay docile
\nsensitive and calm
\nbut inside they are
\nfrightened
\nthey fear they will come to
\nharm
\nand many of course suffer
\nwe torture them each day
\nwe lead them to the
\nslaughterhouse
\nand we murder them
\nin a way
\nthe animals are sentient
\nprofoundly so, I’d say
\nfor they remain so stable
\ndespite the price they pay<\/p>\n
we’re good at making up long words
\nand a few short one’s too
\nto cull is just to murder
\nbut it sounds so soft, we do
\npay for this dilution
\nfor what we sadly do
\nlead them to the Abattoir
\nborrowed from France
\na clue
\na place of Death
\nof slaughter
\nwhere butchers cut and thrust
\nwhere blood soaked walls
\nand haunting calls
\nare heard and the disgust
\nof innocence
\nwhere precious lives
\nare truly shortened by
\nothers who willprofit
\nand on that basis you die<\/p>\n
That is sentient behaviour?

\nanimals evoke
