I loved my life
\nEach breath of air
\nI know I am old
\nBUt still I share
\nThe herd respects me
\nIn every way

My teeth are sore my gums are too

\nOur Mother Nature gave to me
\nThis life I lead

Eating by the lake one day
\nI felt a bullet and I did sway
\nForwards backwards I felt taut
\nThe pain was vivid and a thought<\/p>\n
Came to me that man unkind
\nThe hunter tribe
\nMe they did find
\nAnother shot another pain
\nAnd seering heat drove me insane<\/p>\n
I had to run to run away
\nLocked in what was pure dismay
\nAs I ran I heard them coming
\nAnother shot my heart was drumming<\/p>\n
Music of a different kind
\nI was trying to unwind
\nTo fly to leap to get away
\nBut they were many I can say<\/p>\n
Another bullet hit my flank
\nAnd another hit another shank
\nLimping bleeding weakening by
\nThe minute, was I going to die?<\/p>\n
I could smell those hunter men
\nTheir stench was rotten and now
\nWhen
\nAnd how could I just get away
\nMake it to the cave let’s say<\/p>\n
Hide in there and if I must die
\nDie in the darkness by and by
\nBut they caught up with me and I
\nRealised that I had to die<\/p>\n
Crying out and wondering why
\nAnd then I fell with one last sigh
\nI would never see the matriarch
\nNever hear the morning lark<\/p>\n
Never see the day or dark
\nBush meat was my goal
\nThey would carve me to the skies
\nIn the local tribes mans eyes<\/p>\n
I would be their strength
\nit seemed
\nIn all my life
\nI had never dreamed<\/p>\n
I closed my eyes for the last time
\nHoping Rex would write a rhyme
