A kingliness presents itself
\nWhen a face like this you see
\nAround the Congo basin
\nIs where they choose to be
\nIn densely wooden foliage
\nOn the mountainside
\nThese really handsome creatures
\nClearly like to hide<\/p>\n
Virunga National Park
\nAnd extensive hideaway
\nWhere these realtively friendly creatures
\nCan be seen any day
\nThe silverbacks they clearly are
\nA squiredom of of their own
\nReally shiny ebony
\nAnd as hard as a stone<\/p>\n
This was the mountain gorilla
\nIn family units they
\nLive and die up on the mountain
\nFeeding along the way
\nWhat has become a problem
\nIs the logging bands who come
\nAnd who build roads into forest
\nAnd there are now some
\nAn where access is provided
\nThen we of course will see
\nPoachers coming down those road
\nAnd killing food from free<\/p>\n
And so the gorillas get it
\nAnd a number of them are killed
\nBush meat is a reason
\nFor their blood now being spilled
\nA basket full of lovely hands
\nAnd lower arms as well
\nThese poacher men were clearly
\nBandits out of hell<\/p>\n
Feet as well as souvenirs
\nAnd worth a 5 dollar bill
\nReally beautiful animals
\nSo to see their rich blood spill
\nAnd gorilla meat on someone’s hand
\nIt really grabs the soul
\nTo see the individual limbs
\nClearly the poachers goal<\/p>\n
300 of them killed each year
\nMany for souvenirs
\nThe shame of these low life Individuals
\nAnd it rapidly appears
\nThere is not a lot of money
\nAnd a lot of work to do
\nTo look into their eyes and see
\nThem looking back at you<\/p>\n
Really soulful creatures
\nSo like one of us
\nExcept of course they hugely strong
\nBut dont want to discuss
\nThrough eye contact and seeing
\nAnd hearing right awAy
\nAnd now its very possible
\nIf we get the DNA.<\/p>\n
To catch some of these blighters
\nFor clearly the gorillas are
\nImmensely strong and iconic
\nAnd this poaching is so wrong
\nThe silverbacks it dies scar
\nDefenders of their pack
\nAnd if you have no identification
\nLike a cluck, if you do lack
\nThis you could be charged
\nAnd killed
\nBut of course the poachers do
\nCreep up with their lousy guns
\nAnd very very few<\/p>\n
Gorillas up against a gun
\nAre unlikely before it fires
\nAnd so the bush meat saga
\nThat the local men desires
\nIs carried out with the rest of it
\nAnd sold far away
\nAnd the loggers really
