\nRemarkable bird whose energy
\nAnd devotedness may stun
\nThe observer for in earnest
\nThis wondrous Snow White soul
\nWho feeds chiefly on submerged plants
\nSo seemingly in control<\/p>\n

\nSo it seems they do
\nExtraordinarily in history
\nThe Queen did eat them she
\nInvited Samuel Pepys the diary writer
\nHome for tea
\nAnd he was thought
\nto enjoy the taste
\nThough few around agreed
\nIn those days finding a big enough dish
\nWas a problem yes indeed<\/p>\n
Now each year the ceremony
\nOf counting swans appears
\nSwan upping it’s called actually
\nAnd just Many many tiers of counters
\nOn the Royal Thames who drink the day away
\nThe problem for the swans
\nIt seems is pollution so they say<\/p>\n
Lead we know is a killer
\nAnd chemicals that abound
\nBut there remains a fascination
\nFrom a lot of folk around<\/p>\n
