The elusive and solitary Pangolin
\nthey do not hurt anyone but life is thin
\nTHe Nepalese want the scales which they wear
\nIn amongst the myriad hair
\nThat’s because they are supposed to bring
\nGood luck to the wearers, like anything
\nWearing dead animal charms It is wrong
\nAnd on this earth those folk do not belong<\/p>\n
It is on the red list and highly thought
\npoachers though clearly can’t be bought
\nOff of a market for out there today
\nThey Can earn big bucks that’s what they say
\nAgain it’s only keratin like our finger nails
\nIt’s all that spin
\nA con in fact a market share
\nSay it cures cancer and stay unaware
\nLike the poor old Rhino’s no one hears
\nThe scream as the poacher man appears<\/p>\n
These nocturnal creatures harm no one
\nThey live and die out of the sun
\nThey roam at night eat ants and that’s all
\nThey do no damage as a rule
\nLive in forests that’s all they do
\nMove very slowly so people who
\nimagine their flesh to really be
\nWhat they have heard a delicacy
\nPay upwards of 200 dollars I hear
\nIn Vietnam yes it’s clear
\nAnd in Hong Kong too they like To eat
\npangolin yes pangolin meat<\/p>\n
Extinction appears
\nNow to be
\nA fairly obvious guarantee
\nHow to save this solitary soul
\nFrom the human predator out of control
\nIs apparently the hardest thing
\nFor the rarer they are
\nthe more money they bring<\/p>\n
It’s all the black market
\nIt’s all the rich sods
\nWho imagine that they
\nAre higher than gods
\nThey control everyone
\nThat’s how they feel
\nScales horns bones skin
\nThe market is real<\/p>\n
They can always find someone
\nAs desperate as hell
\nOr loaded with money
\nWho will want to sell
\nCon their sick victims
\nInto taking the lure
\nAnd abusing the innocent
\nIf it will cure<\/p>\n
