The first people may be arrested
\nFor trespass on their own land
\nThe guardians of intention
\nIt is they who understand
\nEnvironmental degradation
\nAnd the sacredness of whole
\nIt is them that ran with animals
\nAnd who have the truest soul<\/p>\n
Their land above all else to them
\nIs as sacred as it can be
\nThey ploughed their blood into it
\nWith what was adversity
\nAMerica should bow to them
\nInstead she carries on
\nWiping the floor with these Angels
\nAnd though many have gone<\/p>\n
Many still are present
\nWith memories who care
\nThey love the land they fought for
\nWhilst this may appear rare
\nThey are a splendid people
\nGuardians of soul
\nAnd to treat them as we treat them
\nAnd to imagine we control<\/p>\n
Them by building a pipeline
\nCarrying the vile crude
\nCalamitous and awful
\nWhich of course will exude
\nThese pipelines break for certain
\nAnd sacred lands will be
\nLost in dark pollution
\nFor all eternity<\/p>\n
America used genocide
\nAgainst these tribes before
\nTheir blood it filled the rivers
\nRaping man and squaw
\nSlaughtering their babies
\nAnd terrorising soul
\nMoving them to reservations
\nReally to control<\/p>\n
All throughout their history
\nThe indigenous they know
\nThey all have dreaded memories
\nOf the hatred that did grow
\nIn hearts and minds they suffered
\nThe vagaries of greed
\nOf arrogance and ignorance
\nAnd my goddess did they bleed<\/p>\n
They lost so many brothers
\nSo many sisters slaughtered by
\nThe armies who came forcefully
\nThe only reason why
\nThe land that the first people
\nHad worked on all their lives
\nHad struggled with the elements
\nAnd who now faced the long knives<\/p>\n
Millions were Wiped out and lost
\nThat’s when Hollywood
\nRe- wrote the bloody history
\nAnd the propaganda stood
\nThere for hungry children
\nIn America and the U.K.
\nTo be taught really bloody lies
\nThat was day after day<\/p>\n
We got the wrong end of the stick
\nHistory and lies
\nThe first people lived through all of that
\nMany ultra wise
\nPhilosophical clearly understanding more
\nOf what makes nations great
\nAnd what life is really for<\/p>\n
They live life by example
\nMany sent away
\nControlled in reservations
\nTo live out every day
\nThey have their honest culture
\nThey are closer to the land
\nThe ways of Nature are part of them
\nAnd they surely understand<\/p>\n
That to build a great long pipeline
\nThat stretches far and wide
\nFrom Dakota into Illinois
\nIt’s a sacredness suicide
\nThe land the water courses
\nThe forests everywhere
\nA breach and they are commonplace
\nAnd forsee complete despair<\/p>\n
And why would a nation do this
\nThe tribes have the insight they
\nLive and die on the land they work
\nEvery single day
\nTheir marrow is made up of it
\nToo much blood has flowed
\nIn battles pitched and darkly
\nIt’s been an ugly road<\/p>\n
And now they want to foist this pipeline
\nOn the indigenous who
\nAre not prepared to allow it
\nSo what does Anerica do
\nBrings its homeland security
\nObama’s puppets who
\nAre brainwashed by the system
\nTo do what they must do<\/p>\n
Arrest the Angels swiftly
\nFor trespass on their own land
\nFor being cautious about their water
\nAnd that they understand
\nThe vagaries of humans
\nCaught pin pure greed
\nOnly out for profit
\nAnd ways that they succeed<\/p>\n
And as for everybody else
\nThey can go to hell
\nSell them down the river
\nImprison them as well
\nAfter all they are unlike us
\nThey care and live as one
\nThey speak a different languagE
\nWhen the day is done<\/p>\n
Whatever transpires America
\nIs going to face the wrath
\nIt’s government is stepping out
\nDown a dangerous path
\nHistory may come back
\nHard on murderers who say
\ngo back to your reservation
\nOr we will blow you away<\/p>\n
The world looks on at what’s happening
\nIt makes no sense at all
\nA pipeline full of darkly crude
\nOf course it does appal
\nAny thinking caring person living on the land
\nWho know the ways of nature
\nAnd who can understand<\/p>\n
Their water is their spirit
\nIs their life and all must hear
\nA pipeline that will likely burst
\nAt some point brings much fear
\nWithout the precious water
\nThe tribes of course will die
\nThe land will be polluted
\nIn one wink of their eye<\/p>\n
And so we watch this battle
\nOf what pure hearts and minds
\nOf water and the precious land
\nThey occupy, one finds
\nThe ignorance apparent
\nAmongst the city folk
\nCompared to the First Nation people
\nWho clearly now go for broke<\/p>\n
The judge next month will tell them
\nWhat they have to do
\nShut up and just walk away
\nOr stop the pipeline to
\nIllinois across the river
\nTHe Missouri she
\nrolling ever onwards
\nWith hope eternally<\/p>\n
I was so inspired to write this poem today by a certain Facebook friend called Petra Domay-Strelow
\nWho was very positive and who shared and liked
\nA lot of my previous tweet Facebook comments
\nShe basically had done this just before I woke up and so I wrote this poem
\nFor the indigenous people of America and the pipeline that threatens their sacred lands and waterways.
