mother
Who ruled far and wide
They were the indigenous
Deep down inside

The women would nurture
The women would grow
A life of fulfilment
A life as we know
That was hard it impacted
So much of their life
The men were the Warriors
Eating up strife

These times things were harsh
For they lived and they died
Out in the open country wide
They were the guardians
They were the soul
Of the environment
The shared control

Their culture was rich
With the fabric of life
Light streamed down through them
Their aura was bright
They ran with the wolves
And the Buffalo hordes
They used simple weaponry
And their rewards

Were their truest spirit
Their promise was all
They lived in the moment
The Warriors call
They were close to the earth
In a positive way
And they lived by the sun and the moon
Every day

They were grounded and evolved
By just being whole
Eating macrobiotically
Reaching each goal
With an ethos of caring
And of Sharing their lot
With a wonderful outwardness
Which you could spot

They were hard they were strong
And they learned very fast
Their stage had been set
They were the cast
They had to make it
They had to be
Able to cope
To the highest degree

There was trust and direction
Their intimacy
In the context of life
Was no real mystery
They had logic and reasoning
And they could see
The vision before them
Of infinity

As we know there were wars
And many were lost
They came into conflict with
The white man the cost
Though they ran with the wolves
They died with them too
Wilder than wild
Their hearts broken through

And so they were moved from their places
Of rest
The land they had conquered
All they did invest
In blood sweat and sharing
Was taken away
They were given reserves
And were then made to pay

Massive upheavals
And disparity
Have followed the tribes
The iniquity
Of the ruling governments
Who came along
To destroy their culture
And where they did belong

It sickens me really
To hear the squaws cry
They were slaves to the system
Under the sky
No other people strived for a life
And received nothing back
But a great wave of strife

And now on their sacred lands
Riddled with blood
With their precious ancestors
Lost in the mud
The great ruling classes
Have been unfair
Destroying so much
Of what others did share

So many lost souls
Their howls fill the sky
So many spirits are wondering why
Man was so bitter man so unkind
Failing to see the extent of their mind
They were the country
They should have been
Rewarded and given
The countryside green

Not thrown out and made to walk
Miles to their place
Rocky and ugly and just a disgrace
But again they were up for it
And they slaved
on
And recreated the world
That had gone

And now what we see
In this corporate sin
These great soulless entities
Once more begin
To take from the Angels of the countryside
To steal and to deal and then it’s denied
Such greed and such arrogance
Such ruthless men
With power that’s corrupting
And why I pen

So many words the indigenous they
Are once again fighting
For their judgement day
Fish farms have happened
Pipe lines of crude
Dark dirty arteries that could exude
Filth and destruction
Upon Them for they
Have visited hell
Every single dark day

NOrth Dakota to Illinois
All those long miles
ENergy Transfer of Dallas
Their smiles
Are not to be trusted
For a pipeline can be
Dreadfully dangerous
That much all can see
The Sioux and Lakota
Combined In Their fight
To remain where they are
And to live with the light

In Canadafish farms
Have spread Ear and far
They are ignorant pastimes
And tragically scar
The beaches the estuaries
The fish stocks the sea
Pollution is rife
And so is the pLea
From the indigenous peoplesSuffering so
All of those villages around their they know
The extent of this evil
It spreads everywhere
And their very existence
Is one of despair

The Norwegian and Japanese
Pirates of pain
Have stolen their lands
And how can they gainAnd pollute
What is not there’s
Simply because
They are corporate evil
Who run their affairs

In far off capitals
Across the sea
They steal and they aggravate
The people who be
Tossed off their lands
In such ignorant ways
A tolerant breed
At a terrIble phase
It cannot go on
These evils must cease
The First Nation people
Must see some release
They are clearly threatened
Their salmon is too
We must rise. With our brothers and sisters
And do

Whatever it takes for the winds now all blow
The rains are so acidic
The trees do not grow
The leaves are now blackening
The soil now is too
We are killing our mother
And all this is true

MUSGAMADWD ZAWADA EUNXW
KINGCOME VILLAGE
GILFORD VILLAGE
ALERT BAY

Eviction notices lodged
On all 27 farms

They ran with the wolves In the wildest terrain The wilderness beckoned They were never a drain On the ways of their mother Who ruled far and wide They were the indigenous Deep down inside The women would nurture The … Continue reading →

[173,36

post-29070","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-activism","category-indigenous-people
["GET
