\nThe skin of many animals
\nThought to be divine
\nBy some who want their custom cars
\nBags and belts and shoes
\nAnd they choose the distressed durable leathers
\nHere are a few views<\/p>\n
ELephant it’s above board it’s CITES
\nCertified
\nIt’s only a by product
\nAnd everything is denied
\nCanned and trophy hunting we hear excuses flow
\nWe are feeding the local people
\nOh yes of course we know<\/p>\n
And it’s conservation and it’s harvesting and more
\nEvery excuse in the joke book
\nAll of which I ignore<\/p>\n
They are creating markets
\nfor exotic leather and
\nAre increasingly in need of skin
\nso you can understand<\/p>\n
Elephants and hippo’s
\ngiraffes ZEbra’s they
\nare popular
\nCrocodiles and caimans so they say
\nWe are a bunch of losers the richer we become
\nWhen arrogance strikes through our hearts
\nAnd souls and makes us numb<\/p>\n
To what is really going on
\nwe establish markets and
\nThen the animals have a use
\nthe flames you see are fanned
\nBy profit and more animals
\nof course are going to die
\nTo feed the local tribesman
\nit’s all a great big lie<\/p>\n
Leather is the skin of animals
\nwho prefer to be
\nLiving and not murdered
\nthats what I want to see
\nAny excuse to kill these beasts
\nwhen markets need more stock
\nELephant leather is crazy
\nit’s cruel and in the dock<\/p>\n
Should be those out there in Africa
\nsupplying this precious skin
\nThe elephants trunk the elephant ears
\nwe seem to under pin
\nAll these mail order traders
\nin exotics around the world
\nAnd elephants are dying
\nand their skin is being hurled<\/p>\n
Into the exotic leather trade
\nWhich the brain dead
\nWant to buy
\nThey have the money
\nbut they haven’t the ethic
\nIt really makes me cry<\/p>\n
How we indulge our greediness
\nand ignorance in this
\nMurder of the shared wild life
\nwhich really and truthfully is<\/p>\n
Indulgence, it’s beyond the pale
\nand what we have to do
\nIs tell the world how mad some are
\nand let’s all take a view
\nWith so much pressure on existence
\nWhat chance is there for
\nThe elephants the hipp0’s
\nWho live outside our door<\/p>\n
Poachers hunters taxidermy
\nThe leather trade and more
\nEveryone wants a bit of you
\nEven the so called poor
\nTo be a real wild animal
\nIn Africa today
\nIs worse than living in a hell
\nAnd there is nothing that we can say<\/p>\n
Except to ban these practices
\nAlready tons of cows
\nAre slaughtered daily
\nFor shoes and boots and bags
\nAnd of course sows too
\nAnd so we turn to exotics
\nNo creature dare to be
\nSeen where it was created
\nWalking wild and free<\/p>\n
Humans are repulsive
\nLet’s agree on that<\/p>\n
