I hear today it’s lion Day
\nWe all must contemplate
\nHow much our Lions are losing
\nTheir homes at such a rate
\nAnd this is because of humans
\nAnd their relation to
\nAll the wild souls in the world
\nYes probably you too<\/p>\n
Your wish to live in the countryside
\nIs growing by the day
\nAnd the Lion is losing habitat
\nFor it seems they are in our way
\nThe King of Beasts who sleep most of the time
\nApparently
\nNeed a space to live and die
\nAnd to wander free<\/p>\n
The human being tragically for Lions
\nBelieves that he
\nCan by the great white hunter
\nAnd offer purgatory
\nTo any would be whispered soul
\nWho ambles passed his door
\nWith gun or bow of course we know
\nHunting now is more<\/p>\n
Trophy canned and more of it
\nTheir vigilance their roar
\nWhen anybody heard it
\nIt can reach into your core
\nExcite you its intensity
\nIt’s courage through and through
\nBut the problem for the lion today
\nIs probably down to you<\/p>\n
Human beings want it all
\nTheir numbers by the day
\nAre growing and extending
\nThere is no getting away
\nFrom humans and the wild souls
\nAre suffering like mad
\nPowerful in a wild place
\nDealing with the sad<\/p>\n
Affects of so called humans
\nWho tear down their terrain
\nWho shoot the lions as trophies
\nSome kudos some do gain
\nThe likes of the Walter Palmers
\nWho lured a wondrous soul
\nOut of its safe area
\nThen just took control<\/p>\n
And of course he got away with it
\nlions don’t stand a chance
\nThey can be tagged and collared
\nBut money talks to dance around
\nWith lots of dollar bills
\nWill persuade so many they
\nCan risk their reputations
\nTo earn some extra pay<\/p>\n
lions in prides are social beasts
\nThe ladies carry on
\nThey raise the Cubs
\nThey hunt the game
\nThey always are upon
\nTheir teamwork is impressive
\nLike females everywhere
\nThey are the marrow in the bones
\nOf life and so we share<\/p>\n
Their love and their attractiveness
\nWe marvel at their nerve
\nThe grasslands and the plains eat up
\nTheir spirit and their verve
\nThey can run fifty miles per hour
\nAnd leap into the sky
\nAnd they support the male Lions
\nThough sometimes Cubs will die<\/p>\n
If a new pretender comes in to show his paw
\nAnd beats up the existing male
\nThen something none can ignore
\nIs the Cubs may get a beating
\nAnd many sadly die
\nThe new king needs his genes alive
\nAnd that dear friends is why<\/p>\n
The Lion is such a champion
\nUp against us all
\nAnd now in Southern Africa
\nlion bones are now on call
\nThe Chinese traditional Doctors
\nHave their certain belief
\nAnd sadly many Lions today
\nTheir life knows pure grief<\/p>\n
it can be blood and thunder
\nWhen the poachers come around
\nAnd the Lions are given short shrift
\nJust slaughtered on the ground
\nWildness is a virtue
\nBut hunting parties now
\nPay their big fat green backs
\nAnd show the wild life how<\/p>\n
Corruption is a man thing
\nGreed is everywhere
\nArrogance is their big disease
\nThe ensuing despair
\nThe vital loss of habitat
\nThe ugliness of man
\nThese so called bloody hunters
\nI for one am not a fan<\/p>\n
They raise their so called adrenaline
\nBy their ammunition pile
\nPoint their murderous tendency
\nJust for a little while
\nCome out in their four by fours
\nWith rangers at their side
\nAnd the poor caged souls are shot to death
\nAnd their spirit is denied<\/p>\n
It will end up on some dusty wall
\nStuffed and falling free
\nShipped across the ocean
\nTo a hall where it will be
\nGazing down with its glass eyes
\nStuffed with kapok too
\nResembling the great beast it once was
\nYes one of the few<\/p>\n
LIons that roamed in Africa
\nThat lived a great life there
\nBefore these bastards came on the scene
\nSpreading their despair
\nSlaughtering the predators
\nRuining it all
\nThey couldn’t use their cameras
\nJust their guns yea to walk tall<\/p>\n
But are now they are seen as mini men
\nWho pay their way to hell
\nGet near them for a moment
\nThey have a horrid smell
\nTheir ignorance and arrogance
\nA state of mind that they
\nWere born with they are the monsters
\nWhose hearts are in decay<\/p>\n
