Cruelty that’s what comes out of this
\nViolence and evil and wrong
\nTemples and monks all are changing
\nAnd elephants that do not belong
\nIn chains with mahouts and long sticks
\nAnd the fear
\nPoor broken spirited souls
\nThe biggest land animals
\nGOd put before us
\nTearful and clearly now poles<\/p>\n
Apart from the so called religion
\nThe kindly the expectant force
\nThe insanity metered out daily
\nWith psychopathy at its true source<\/p>\n
The absurdity really of making
\nAn elephant feel like a mouse
\nMaking him prey on some altar
\nWhere is the truth in that house
\nOur ignorance and lack of consciousness
\nListening to his sad cry
\nAs down on his haunches he is made to go
\nHis poor legs full of aches Which is why<\/p>\n
The religion of lies superstition defies
\nThe gullible knowing in haste
\nThe foregone conclusion
\nIs it’s an illusion
\nAnd truthfully nothing is based
\nOn fact here on thought or on caring
\nThis elephant has taken stick
\nBeen beaten and starved and broken
\nAnd I know in my heart he feels sick<\/p>\n
Yes the monks with their mantra that startles
\nThe wild souls who really should be
\nOut in the jungles where they were put
\nNot under the cosh but still free
\nMaking them bow to our gods in this way
\nIs an truly irrational way
\nIt’s not what the elephant ever should do
\nIt’s mindless behaviour I say<\/p>\n
It is just humiliation
\nA debasement of a great soul
\nThese temples are pimples of demonic darkness
\nWanting of course to control
\nOver stepping the true course of wisdom
\nThe extravigation .of power
\nExceeding all limits of fairness
\nAnd doing it hour after hour<\/p>\n
Where are the scholars of nature
\nWhere are the learned who see
\nWhy is it simpletons waving their sticks
\nWho have the power over me
\nThis is the elephants wisdom
\nIt contradicts all that we hear
\nThe malapropism of monks on the ground
\nAnd the great clouds of resultant fear<\/p>\n
Hear the cries of the great one who gets down
\nAnd begs to be seen and to be
\nDisplaying his affection for crouching
\nAnd concealing his purdah from thee
\nSuppressing his anger like crazy
\nPrepared to just well limp away
\nKnowing if he should attack his mahout
\nThat his whole life would go so to say<\/p>\n
His challenge is one of existence
\nBeaten down each time he roars
\nThis elephant really is suffering
\nBut In essence he gets no applause
\nFor aching or feeling the torment
\nThe false friends are now everywhere
\nUsurping his free will to rest on his laurels
