Apes are sociable animals
\nThey live in the trees all day
\nexercise is what they do
\nThat happens to be their way
\nBeing forced to remain in
\nCages or pens appear
\nTo really put the wind up them
\nAnd it’s all down to fear<\/p>\n
Food is simply thrown at them
\nTheir hunting skills are nil
\nThese are real wild animals
\nWith all that instinctive skill
\nAnd now they are just victims
\nLeft inside a pen
\nTo really feel the sadness
\nEmanating from all men<\/p>\n
Sitting about or walking about
\nBack and forwards they
\nGet undermined by the boredom
\nNothing to do all day
\nAnd bloody pervert keepers
\nWho have just no idea
\nHow to help them train their minds
\nWe can all now see how clear<\/p>\n
It is for this poor Baboon on film
\nIts walking too and fro
\nAt such a speed with no idea
\nWhere he wants to go
\nHe is going bonkers doing this everyday
\nThis is not a life it is gradual decay<\/p>\n
Zoo’s are guilty of this
\nCorporates don’t care
\nIt’s only about money and profit
\nIt’s not fair
\nThey drive these animals crazy
\nThe monotony of life
\nIn a bloody pen of iniquity
\nAnd what is only strife<\/p>\n
And those of us supporting them
\nThese ventures we call zoos
\nAre creating monkey lunatics
\nWho rapidly refuse
\nTo live a normal life in fact
\nTo ruin them every day
\nDepression and frustration
\nIt just blows me away<\/p>\n
How we don’t even see this
\nWe let this cruelty go
\nWe bloody pay to see them
\nAs if they are on show
\nWatch them gradually losing it
\nLiving with our pain
\nAll zoos should be closed down
\nFor animals never gain<\/p>\n
Anything from being there
\nAnd we can see this now
\nOften kept in dirty conditions
\nSurely we know how
\nIt must feel to be caged up
\nIn a dirty filthy pen
\nWhere there is no fulfilment
\nAnd all you see is men<\/p>\n
