Back home I sit and ponder
\nOn the last week spent away
\nIn North Wales where every day it rained
\nWhere existence in a way
\nWas metered out essentially
\nWhere grounded I could be
\nEnduring and procuring
\nUnimagined mystery<\/p>\n
A quarry in Snowdonia
\nWith wild foliage about
\nAnd there we saw a real oasis
\nOne look and there was no doubt<\/p>\n
Randomly placed buildings
\nTheir visibility
\nProfound in actuality
\nAnd technology<\/p>\n
Wild brambles ambling outwards
\nBaby birch there too
\nFlowers and wild souls rambling
\nThe fabric of the few
\nA raggedness a kind of motley mosaic
\nOf the field
\nBut never a monotony on which
\nTo ever build<\/p>\n
A kind of cute play area
\nEnsconced in the trees
\nI could hear the joy of children’s voices
\nAbove the hoary breeze
\nA kitchen lit and airy
\nWith delightful nosegays high
\nAnd into a reception WISEly I asked why<\/p>\n
The sight of pine was everywhere
\nThe walls the floors so warm
\nA cafe and a restaurant
\nTo get out of the storm
\nAnd sit a while enclosed in peaceful aura’s
\nMade us feel
\nWelcome it’s was welcoming
\nAnd invitingly real<\/p>\n
The fine grained foliated metamorphic rock
\nWas everywhere
\n it’s softness
\nDid rapidly unlock
\nThe prose in me the gentleness
\nThe reason so to share
\nPurposeful and colourful
\nWith quantities so clear
\nIncredibly beautiful the walling
\nThe truthful did appear
\n.
\nBalancing the world that I could see
\nThe artistic representations
\nOf giant knobs etc
\nExcited those dolls houses from my childhood
\nActually<\/p>\n
A lovely calming courtyard
\nWith photo voltaic tiles
\nProviding a spectacular
\nEnergy the piles
\nOf calming aspects in surround mode
\nAll around us we
\nCould feel the warmth of a rainy day
\nAnd how nice it was too be<\/p>\n
In the warm arms of the the CAT teams
\nEach truly kindly soul
\nWith an air of peace and calmness
\nWhilst being in control
\nOn a really heartfelt basis
\nAnd eminently so
\nIt was laid back it was measured
\nAnd we Just joined with the flow<\/p>\n
Our rooms were overlooking
\nan area beyond and up into the mountains
\nWhere the slate people abscond
\nTo pick their various berries
\nAnd Dance in the morning mists
\nWith bells around their ankles
\nAnd with flowers around their wrists<\/p>\n
Pine was again in evidence
\nAs was simplicity
\nA beautiful picture window
\nWhere I could sit and be
\nAt one with all that foliage
\nThat mountain and the sky
\nAnd the mists that drew a curtain
\nHiding goblins that did fly<\/p>\n
Each topsy Turvy skimble skamble
\nWinding path to where
\nThe slate people do live their lives
\nClearly so aware
\nOf what the mortals did here
\nThe conservation and
\nThe alternative technology
\nIn hand and for the land<\/p>\n
The exuberance of living
\nIn a world of love and care
\nWhere the blush of early morning
\nAnd the real mountain air
\nWashed into your waiting lungs
\nOne great continuous stream
\nAnd the focus and the thinking
\nWas something from a dream<\/p>\n
They were so accommodating
\nYou felt cared for in a stroke
\nThe sweeping panorama’s
\nWhen anybody spoke
\nContinuance in action
\nA permanence of thought
\nAn unfailing reason to uphold
\nAll you had been taught<\/p>\n
An in house revolution
\nA mutability
\nA kaleidoscope ‘
\nOf colours
\nThrough every infancy<\/p>\n
A general realisation
\nOf ones destiny abroad
\nOf the impending judgement that we must all afford
\nThe mainspring of the movement
\nTo remain at Natures path
\nAnd sink our teeth in renewables
\nForgoing all the wrath<\/p>\n
Of the nuclear phenomena
\nAnd of course the fossil fuels
\nWe had to take a pivotal role
\nInspired within the rules
\nAcknowledging the obvious
\nAnd blaming none abroad
\nAll being accountable
\nFor what we could afford<\/p>\n
The power was of endurance
\nThe influence to stay
\nWalk ones talk
\nFight ones battle
\nIt’s a winning way
\nIt must feel irresistible
\nThe zero carbon day
\nGet off the grid
\nEach solar bid
\nThe order come what may<\/p>\n
Wind turbines, solar, wave power
\nReed beds let them be
\nPlungers for power stations
\nInsect hotels and we
\nCan compost till we are crazy
\nBuilding with straw bales
\nTurf our roof
\nIt’s possible
\nWalk on natures trails<\/p>\n
MAchynlleth blazes
\nTheir trail up in the air
\nAcross the mountains
\nThrough the quarries
\nAlmost everywhere
\nHer water powered cliff railway
\nIt’s all a dream come true
\nGo along to CAT I say
