Ebony bubbles hang off thorns
\nPlump and ready where silence warns
\nThe unsuspecting pilferer who
\nComes with his parched throat
\nRaring to chew
\nThe scrambling berries the jewels of July
\nThey ramble and clamber on stems so high
\nThat cling to the brick flake
\nAnd move away
\nThey muster and Cluster and dance and they
\nplay
\nVery aggressive to others I’d say
\nMasses of green leaves soaking up light
\nThe bramble a scramble
\nAnd here for a fight
\nSoon it be Lammas time the corn dolly comes
\nWatch out for fingers watch out for thumbs
\nHis, horned thorny weaponry catches the skin
\nHe does share his berries and his sweetness within
\nBut we need to take care for his long grasping arms
\nCan become perilous along with his charms
\nAnd a tiny affliction can remind you a while
