Tar Sands and ongoing spills and threats to the environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From outer space<br \/>\nthey can be seen<br \/>\nThe Tar Sand ponds<br \/>\nthe moral question<br \/>\nwhere have you been?<br \/>\nmade of sand<br \/>\nand leaking out<br \/>\nthe poisons<br \/>\nthat they all knew about<\/p>\n<p>once a Boreal forest tall<br \/>\nits living wealth<br \/>\nwas shared by all<br \/>\ntrees gave oxygen<br \/>\nproviding what<br \/>\nall could understand<\/p>\n<p>crisp fresh air<br \/>\nwas the way to go<br \/>\nbut beneath the surface<br \/>\nthe sands we know<br \/>\nthe dark satanic mills<br \/>\nwhere we<br \/>\ncould scrape the filth<br \/>\neternally<\/p>\n<p>and so we did<br \/>\nwhat no man before<br \/>\nhas done<br \/>\nwe razed to the ground<br \/>\nand more<br \/>\nwe brought in great trucks<br \/>\nand machinery<br \/>\nand began to create<br \/>\nthe energy<\/p>\n<p>Alberta&#8217;s eyes<br \/>\nwere becoming sore<br \/>\nas the carbon rose<br \/>\nand the tailings soar<br \/>\narsenic and lead<br \/>\ndrawn from the deep<br \/>\nto poison the fish<br \/>\nas the people sleep<\/p>\n<p>to poison the air<br \/>\nto poison the stream<br \/>\nto create a nightmare<br \/>\nas children dream<br \/>\nhydrocarbon exposures<br \/>\ntoo<br \/>\ncoming to a village close<br \/>\nto You<\/p>\n<p>soft tissue sarcoma&#8217;s<br \/>\nunheard of and rare<br \/>\nsomehow were heard<br \/>\nsometimes as a  prayer<br \/>\ncould be heard in the forest<br \/>\nthe footprints though gone<br \/>\nthe light became dark<br \/>\nwhere the sun had once shone<\/p>\n<p>Vast profits for some<br \/>\nmigratory birds<br \/>\nlanded on ponds<br \/>\nand there were no words<br \/>\nto describe the new evil<br \/>\nwhich created the case<br \/>\nas they sank in the oil<br \/>\nlost without trace<\/p>\n<p>The First Nation peoples<br \/>\nwere feeling such pain<br \/>\nthey could see that their mother<br \/>\nwas crying again<br \/>\nthey feared the worse<br \/>\nfor they knew the best<br \/>\nhad been sacrificed clearly<br \/>\nand was not addressed<\/p>\n<p>the balance of Nature<br \/>\ndegraded before<br \/>\nthe eyes of the seeing<br \/>\nthat many ignore<br \/>\nthe Natural World<br \/>\nas the beat of its drum<br \/>\nthe energy called<br \/>\nand they clearly had some<\/p>\n<p>pipelines were dug<br \/>\nto send the black gold<br \/>\nevery which way<br \/>\nfor on this they were sold<br \/>\nacross many highways<br \/>\nand byways it went<br \/>\nunder streams, under creeks<br \/>\nits passage was mean&#8217;t<\/p>\n<p>Big Oil was rubbing<br \/>\nits big hands with glee<br \/>\nthe dirtiest oil<br \/>\nwas good therapy<br \/>\nthe Michigan oil spill<br \/>\ncame out of the blue<br \/>\nand reached down as far as the<br \/>\nKalamazoo<\/p>\n<p>cracks had developed<br \/>\nsome years before<br \/>\nbut for 17 hours it spilled out<br \/>\nand what&#8217;s more<br \/>\nit was undetected<br \/>\nthey were unaware<br \/>\nand it flushed through the land<br \/>\nlike nothing before<\/p>\n<p>ongoing stress and sickness<br \/>\nand pain<br \/>\nlike the vilest of armies<br \/>\nno one could contain<br \/>\nwild life took big hits<br \/>\nthe people did too<br \/>\nland owners and villagers<br \/>\nclearly, they drew<\/p>\n<p>on their strength and their<br \/>\nfortitude<br \/>\nbut gradually<br \/>\nit wore them all down<br \/>\nso exposed as we see<br \/>\nit spewed every which way<br \/>\nvile to the extreme<br \/>\nthe army of neon<br \/>\nand big oil&#8217;s machine<\/p>\n<p>people have suffered<br \/>\nthe land has been made<br \/>\nthe air is polluted<br \/>\nthe Tar Sands have laid<br \/>\nwaste to an area<br \/>\nof scenic sights<br \/>\nturning their sunniest<br \/>\ndays<br \/>\ninto nights<br \/>\nand now its Obama<br \/>\nwho seemingly can<br \/>\ncreate in his wisdom<br \/>\nThe great Keystone plan<br \/>\nthe mother of all pipelines<br \/>\nwhich will ensure<br \/>\nan energy source<br \/>\nthat BIG OIL does adore<\/p>\n<p>the dirtiest oil<br \/>\nrunning all of those miles<br \/>\nthrough the bowels of the earth<br \/>\neclipsing the dials<br \/>\nshould another spill happen<br \/>\nand happen it will<br \/>\nthere does not  exist money<br \/>\nto pay that great bill<\/p>\n<p>the soundness of judgement<br \/>\nthe greed of the few<br \/>\nthe hopes and the prayers<br \/>\nof people like you<\/p>\n<p>This was written to try to help<br \/>\nJohn Bolenbaugh who today I saw a video of him<br \/>\nunder going a terrible seizure
