A laborious insult
\nFor a baby to take
\nIt’s mother is missing
\nAnd thus for its sake
\nIt’s frightened and woeful
\nOf why it should be
\nLeft on its own and tied to a tree<\/p>\n
What kind of message
\nDo you think that it feels
\nTotal disharmony
\nAnd what that reveals
\nA massive upheaval
\nIn such disarray
\nA giveness really
\nHas been taken away<\/p>\n
A realness a positiveness
\nIt had had
\nIt’s matriarch mother
\nProtecting her lad
\nAnd now where was she
\nWhere were they
\nWhy was he
\nTied up and a trudging
\nAround this old tree<\/p>\n
It didn’t make sense
\nThe sky was still blue
\nHe could hear the birds singing
\nWhat he wanted to do
\nWas run in the tall grass
\nAnd play in the pool
\nBut instead he was tied up
\nWith no one to call<\/p>\n
Kindred relations
\nAre the steel in ones gait
\nThe sisterhood really
\nWhose power did inflate
\nThe balance and evenness
\nthat did abound
\nAll compensation
\nTo being around<\/p>\n
An abundance and muchness
\nEmbracing it all
\nThe incredible sights
\nThe knowledge on call
\nBeing part of the whole
\nThe entirety
\nAnd missing it all
\nTied up to this tree<\/p>\n
A new beginning
\nMonotony
\nRepetitive thinking
\nCircularity
\nAnd no solution
\nNo assemblage of views
\nSeemingly actually
\nTurning the screws<\/p>\n
Compelling me actually
\nMaking me go
\nAround and around
\nAnd like being on show
\nJust repetition
\nIncessantly
\nIn the hot sun
\nTied to this tree<\/p>\n
Young blood with ideas
\nAnd boyish charm
\nTo sleep in the shade
\nWhere it became calm
\nOr to chase after birds
\nOr to play with a twig
\nOr to eat some fresh leaves
\nSo as to grow big<\/p>\n
I couldn’t sit down
\nJust walk this way and that
\nEach revolution
\nWas where I was at
\nNo variability
\nNothing to see
\nNothing to do
\nOnly to be<\/p>\n
Here trying vigour
\nBut clearly my strength
\nWas not very powerful
\nTo whatever length
\nI tried to exert
\nThe tree was too tough
\nI was a prisoner
\nAnd in a huff<\/p>\n
They were after my spirit
\nMy wildness my power
\nWanting to break me
\nAnd hour after hour
\nThey left me to languish
\nIn the hot sun
\nWith no water no food
\nMy whole life undone<\/p>\n
This is what life’s about
\nI was sure
\nReaching an edge
\nAnd feeling a bore
\nNo one to talk to
\nNothing to do
\nThen go round and round
\nAnd look up at the blue <\/p>\n
The mahout would whip me
\nFrom time to time
\nOut from this universe
\nI wanted to climb
\nIt wasn’t right for me to be
\nLeft on my own tied to this tree<\/p>\n
The great longevity
\nWhere was it now
\nThe vilification
\nI asked myself how
\nMan was unkind
\nAnd why do this to me
