Converting the wild spirit
\nWith cruelty and pain
\nIs a human trait
\nUnfortunately
\nIt’s bigotry for gain<\/p>\n
It’s erratic and unstable
\nIt’s rejection of a soul
\nRefusing to accept a freedom
\nCoupled with a role
\nThat relates to a wildness
\nNot shackled in some crate
\nIn pursuit of circus
\nThat I must so berate<\/p>\n
The relinquishment of common sense
\nAnd common decency
\nTraining bEars to a ride a bike
\nIs an absurdity
\nIt really shows no function
\nIt’s a trifling pursuit
\nAnd really unforgivable
\nWith psychopathy at its root<\/p>\n
Somehow we have lost our marbles
\nThat this practice entertains
\nCircus is passed its sell by date
\nAll spirit it now drains
\nOut of every participant
\nIt’s a thoroughly unkind way
\nOf torturing wild animals
\nAnd making people pay<\/p>\n
It’s noxious and unwholesome
\nAnd seeing this for me
\nIs evidence of regression
\nAnd base degeneracy
\nWe have to put ourselves into the animal
\nAnd see
\nHow we would feel upon this wheel
\nOf true insanity<\/p>\n
Riding a bike and hearing the rabble
\nCheer and give applause
\nWhat does it say to the poor old bearWho must wonder at the cause
\nIt’s perversion from the word go
\nIt violates good sense
\nIt’s a hindrance to humility
\nand there is no defence<\/p>\n
The authorities should crack down
\nAnd people should by now
\nRise above the darkly swamp
\nAnd realise now how
\nCompassion for wild spirits
\nEmpowers us to regard
\nThe trainers as no brainers
