The roar is a voice out of no where
\nIt springs from the inside to wake
\nThose who would hear it and shudder
\nFor honestly it is no fake
\nAlmost 400 reside here
\nIn India Gir National Park
\nAcacia and scrub and grasslands extend
\nAnd rocky hills rise to a mark<\/p>\n
The matriarch she is the queen of the pride
\nMales come into mate but that’s all
\nShe and her sisters will feed and look after
\nWill train up and generally school
\nIt’s a reasonably affable story
\nThere is plenty of wild game around
\nThey may take some Maldari livestock
\nBut there is plenty of food on the ground<\/p>\n
They care about lions here Gujarat
\nHonouring them from the start
\nnatural instincts are working
\nAnd most of it comes from the heart
\nMale lions have distinctive skin flaps
\nAnd much lesser manes than before
\nIn Africa clearly not the same animals
\nBut the males lions do lay down the law<\/p>\n
The Maldari herd cattle they do that each day
\nIn the mornings they set out
\nIn the evening they pay
\nAttention to protecting them in pens of thorn
\nUsed only for milk flesh food they scorn
\nThey sing in the morning a musical lot
\nAn historical pastime which clearly has got
\nEnough to create enough sustenance and they
\nClearly eNjoy simple lives I should say<\/p>\n
The lions have it pretty good
\nIt’s natural and they
\nHunt for wild game just the same
\nOne can say
\nYas any wild lion
\nAnd they seemingly are
\nHappy and healthy
\nEach one a star<\/p>\n
300 Leopards live in the Gir
\nOnly a half of the weight so there’s fear
\nOver the Lions but they seem to get by
\n300 bird types and reptiles that lie
\nOut on the swamps in so many ways
\nThis place is heavenly at every phase
\nThere is great respect from the people
\nWho care
\nWho stay well away
\nBut seemingly share<\/p>\n
