Creation put before us pure perfection
\nA highly regarded animal who could
\nreally manage distance
\nWas wild and very knowledgable an integral part
\nOf life
\nBut up against the haughty he became
\nA bad boy in the eyes of all the ranchers
\nWhose ignorance was like a sordid flame
\nlike wildfire it of course spread every which way
\nAmong those herding cattle and so they
\nBlamed the wolf for all of their predation
\nBut wolves are very balanced in the way
\nThey operate they seldom take down cattle
\nAnd if they do its rancher error and
\nRanchers some are arrogant beyond their time
\nAnd they haven’t got a clue about the land<\/p>\n
The first people knew the wolves they lived beside them
\nThey knew their hunting prowess and beyond
\nThey were from noble stock their freedom was their rock
\nAnd really in a sense they kept a bond
\nGoing with the wolves a thread of secrecy
\nClearly great respect was shared by all
\nInfact the wolves were very much like you or me
\nThey persevered they were tireless to their call<\/p>\n
THe Imnaqha pack were a family bold and earnest
\nFrom north Eastern Oregon a while ago
\nIn 2009 one soul called OR 7 surfaced
\nNinety pounds of muscle as we know
\nReally they have a predetermination
\nInstinctively they know their way around
\nThey really are the children of the wilderness
\nWarriors who work in packs and have found<\/p>\n
Their purpose and intention all set fine for them
\nIn pursuit of a partner they may go
\nto unprecedented sources
\nEven across state lines
\nThe soul urge is the power the light that clearly shines
\nAnd despite the evil wall of death encountered
\nThe inner spirit instinctively is there
\nEvery waking hour and every salient thought
\nProvides the compass setting always fair<\/p>\n
A journey of such a magnitude sets hackles to the fore
\nWhere men with rifles are waiting with evil at their core
\nWhere other packs of wolves be but it makes no difference they
\nThe dispersed and the undaunted wolf always knows his way
\nHis power is super human his openness to be
\nHe is the truest sculptor of what is our geography
\nHe by himself can balance the rivers and each tree
\nCan redesign the open spaces and achieves it naturally<\/p>\n
oR7 took himself over mountains and everwhere
\nAcross the raging rivers bringing him despair
\nHe stayed away from human eyes a phantom let us say
\nWith a will to be invisible and never ever pay
\nFor being in his element where creation put him, he
\nWas relevant an essential force for good essentially
\nA lone wolf with such foresight with much measure on the trail
\nImprovising substituting his wisdom didn’t fail
\nWolves are so resourceful in every single way
\nThey are always one step ahead on any given day<\/p>\n
He must have felt the beauty the excitement of the light
\nHis hunting trips so powerful whether day or night
\nHe was so selective of the prey he took and we
\nCan learn much from his true reserves which are a constancy
\nDid he lay down his unique scent for other wolves to use
\nOr did he follow and age old path himself did he choose
\nTo open up his inner power his ancestral acclaim
\nExhaustless and overflowing with the abundance of the same<\/p>\n
The past has heard the thunderous roar of the hunter man who will
\nBreak into the wolves persona where high powered rifles spill
\nTheir guts upon the wilderness or entrap them thus great care
\nThe wolf is in his daily flow and remains always aware
\nHe is in his integrity a spirit of our time
\nDespite the malevolence of man who cannot hope to climb
\nInto the true blown psyche where the wolf exists to be
\nFlawless in his interpretation of life expectancy<\/p>\n
The challenges where so immense but the wolf child carried on
\nAnd finally reached California his journey undergone
\nA thousand miles of drama played out under his feet
\nNothing really phases him his weaponry complete
\nAnd was seen by one Liz Parrish who couldn’t believe her eyes
\nUnderneath a cedar tree climbing to the skies
\nWashing in its marvellous shade and staring straight at her
\nShe couldn’t find her camera to record what did occur<\/p>\n
Not for 80 years or more had wild wolf ventured by
\nSo to see this handsome devil with brightest truest eye
\nStaring back at her this day took her by surprise
\nHe was a pure oil painting one of the unique guys
\nShe looked down and then and he was gone he was no more
\nHe had evaporated invisible for sure his camouflage was wonderful
\nHis ability
\nto be there one minute gone the next set down his history<\/p>\n
oR7 Had been his name the trait of human kind
\nso a competition was set up and “JOURNEY”they did find
\nWas the best and the most suitable name
\nAnd I have to agree
\nOR7’s brand new name of course was yes JOURNEY
\nHe found a mate and started a family he was sure
\nHis genes would march through time forever and no one would ignore
\nHe made his way across the lines to Oregan where he had come from
\nFound his way back home becoming history
\nHimself a lone wolf made it all those many miles
\nLeft his pack and then did track experiencing the trials
\nAnd of course the tribulations of living close to man
\nFrightened by his ghostly howling his story thus began
\nA positive commitment to wolves where ere they be
\nA wave of sincere and avid thought To free them hopefully
\nFrom torrid vileness given them by the ignorance of man
\nWho could never understand them and who had lost the will to plan
\nTo instigate expression for the genuine divide
\nA champion in every way who could always be relied
\nUpon to be one step ahead of man un kind who thought
\nHe had the better of the wolf but reality in short
\nHas given wolves the upper hand as their reintroduction shows
\nThat with persistence and involvement eventually they pose
\nAnd carry on their symphony their music fills our hearts
\nEven those horrid rancher men who works in fits and starts
\nCome to see the wolves for who they are and how they be
\nAdvantageous to us into eternity<\/p>\n
