Cetaceans must feel awful
\nThe frustration really must
\nLeave them feeling breathless
\nIt really is unjust
\nThe fisherman they often
\nLeave their gear around
\nBe it crab pots and anchors
\nAnd lines and nets
\nWhen found
\nBy inhabitants, sea creatures
\nWithout tools it would be
\nRestricting to their movement
\nAnd agonisingly<\/p>\n
So very frustrating
\nAll this human stuff
\nDumped some cant be bothered
\nAnd we all have had enough
\nOf what is incorrectness
\nAnd indiscretion too
\nJust not really thinking
\nOf what could accrue<\/p>\n
And this poor whale
\nGot tangled up
\nIn crab pots and in nets
\nYards of nylon filament
\nAnchor weights
\nJust sets
\nThe heart a beating
\nFaster
\nFishermen can be
\nCompletely lackadaisical
\nWhat they throw in The sea<\/p>\n
It happened several years ago
\nA fisherman could see
\nA hump back whale who clearly was
\nSuffering terribly
\nReally all this heavy line
\nHad entered its blubber too
\nAnd got into its baleen
\nAnd it must have took the view<\/p>\n
Of hopelessness despite its size
\nAnd thought perhaps to use its eyes
\nTo find a craft and try to see
\nSomeone who might help it be
\nSaved at least to try at least
\nAnd the man relayed the case
\nThe beast
\nWas trapped and a rescue group was sent
\n4 experienced divers in with her went<\/p>\n
5 hours later cutting away
\nAll the lines the Whale did stay
\nClose in knowing that help was here
\nAnd that if she waited it would all be clear
\nPlucking the wire from her baleen be
\nThe diver was watched purposefully
\nHe knew her eyes was firmly on
\nHim and his eye right upon<\/p>\n
A military diver he had been
\nHad rescued people but had never seen
\nOr felt the rescue quite like this whale
\nWho clearly had picked the get out of jail
\nCard by attracting these men to
\nSpend those 5 hours all good and true<\/p>\n

\nThey worked and worked to improve the fate
\nOf this great big whale with a great big eye
\nWho was Very humble and they knew why
\nDespite his massive weight and size
\nWithout their help its was no surprise
\nShe would die for certain she couldn’t be
\nAble to swim far in the sea<\/p>\n
She remained calm throughout it all
\nClearly aware of the long haul
\nAs piece by piece each pot was taken
\nAnd she was really left forsaken
\nConsiderate of what they had done
\nAll five of them under the sun<\/p>\n
As each man cut and pulled and wrapped
\nThey realised how she had to adapt
\nHer swimming techniques for obviously
\nThe lines were cutting into her body
\nWas it misjudgement who knows for she
\nWas tangled in knots extraordinarily
\nLeft to her own resources she
\nWas going to tire out and die in the sea<\/p>\n
They demonstrated the will to care
\nThey felt her message which was why they were there
\nIts when they discovered we all have need
\nThe size of a bus or the size of a seed
\nWhatever size we can help each other
\nSomebody’s father somebody’s mother
\nA team of carers one by one cut the ropes
\nThats what they had done<\/p>\n
And the cry of freedom was on her breath
\nA fountain of diadems instead of her death
\nShe dived down deep and came back again
\nClearly she knew and felt the gain
\nThe freedom was back she would soon be
\nThe queen again
\nin the big blue sea<\/p>\n
So she swam away and came back to each
\nDiver in turn and she did just reach
\nOut to them with her sonic voice
\nThey really didn’t have a choice
\nShe overwhelmed them
\nWith her love and thought
\nShe was free again
\nAnd no more caught<\/p>\n
A profound message to one and all
\nA great big eye
\nAnd a silent call
\nTo the universe and to those who came
\nThey had rescued her
\nAnd she couldn’t blame
\nAnyone here for the absolute joy
\nShe felt when rescued from such a lovely boy<\/p>\n
His name was James Moskito and he
\nWas completely flummoxed by what he did see
\nHer gratefulness and ardour too
\nAs he pulled and pushed as they had to do
\nWith honour and due respect for life
\nAnd life without the external strife
\nThey respected her and give her care
