Dressage, a cruel and nasty
\nsport that’s if you ask me
\na totally unnatural gait
\nthat the horse does painfully
\nit was what was done when horses
\nwere taken into War
\nand to make a horse go
\nthrough all that
\nwe must ask ourselves

the riders stiff and miserable
\nhave spurs and use them too
\nand special bits that hurt the horses
\nmouth, to make it do
\nthe kind of really stilted stuff
\nwhere no horse wants to be
\nand horses put through dressage
\nget high risk injury
\nyou can see them wince and holler
\nand a feeling person can
\npick up genuine horror
\nI’d ask now for a ban
\nto do it all to music
\nwell thats rubbing salt into
\nthe wounds it just compounds
\nthe pain, and that’s my honest view
\nCurb bits, chin chains
\ncrank nosebands, spurs
\nand Rolikur
\nhyperflexion of the horse’s neck
\ndo you concur?
\nits all down to aggressive force
\nas the poor horse suffers so
\nthe crowd roars and the band plays
\nand the horse’s tears just flow

\na vile and nasty test of whether

\nriders choose to work with
\nthe neck lowered to the chest
\nwhatever people think is right or wrong
\nThey know what’s best

\nthe honours,and the gongs

\nstretching the horses back
\nthrough a great series of wrongs
\nhorses should not be put through this
