He’s probably the oldest
\ninhabitant here
\nAnd has taken on man
\nand has won
\nHe’s a valiant soul
\nwith a deal of control
\nBut a lot now
\ndie under the gun
\nTuberculosis a wasting disease
\nBorn of the bovine brigade
\nHas surfaced once more
\nAt the old dairy door
\nAnd Badgers have joined the parade<\/p>\n
Shy rather secretive
\nBrock survives well
\nBut lately mans back
\non his trail
\nHe stands accused
\nAnd is being abused
\nBy some Farmers
\nwho say it is Hell
\nWhere there are badgers
\nTB is showing
\nFarmers point fingers
\nThey say it is growing
\nHe is forced back
\nto the rear of the wall
\nHe’s the culprit it seems
\nFrom the newly formed school<\/p>\n
Of farmers it isn’t these landfill
\nSites No!
\nNor the Diets of Badgers
\nAnd so it’s a blow
\nHe’s probably the oldest
\ninhabitant here
\nBut he’s really in trouble
\nit now would appear
\nIt’s all circumstantial
\nthe evidence here
\nBut the innocent
\nsadly have found
\nThere’s not all that many
\nwho really accept
\nAnd stick up
\nfor the Badgers around<\/p>\n
But I take exception
\nto people who slaughter Wild animals
\nit will not do
\nThey can continue
\nto bust every sinew
\nBut I remain steadfast and true<\/p>\n
Why Mr Badger
\nhe was here first
\nHe is wild,
\nhe instinctively knows
\nHe isn’t like man
\nwith his cool Business plan
\nHe is wild and it honestly shows
\nCow’s for example
\nare rarely fed milk
\nThey are not udder fed and we know
\nThat children not breast fed are
\nWeaker by far
\nAnd get weaker
\nas long as they grow
\nWeak immune systems
\ngo under quite fast
\nAnd diseases arise as we see
\nFarmers who point guns
\nat Badgers, alas
\nMust consider
\nthis missive from me<\/p>\n
Anti-biotics
\nabuse of them means
\nLike humans bacterium will
\nTake hold and cows
\nhave been dosed up on them
\nAnd now we must witness the kill
\nNot level blame
\nwhere its unfounded
\nFor to bother
\nthis creature does show
\nThat we’ve learned very little
\nin all of these years
\nAnd perhaps
\nit’s the cow that must go<\/p>\n
