Once there was nothing
\nJust a great grassy plain
\nOver massive white chalk
\nThen reasonings chain
\nBecame the ability
\nTo just create
\nCircles of stone
\nAt an alarming rate<\/p>\n
Burial mounds hewn
\nFrom the chalk
\nIts there its all there just take a walk
\nOn this most ancient site
\nA silent retreat
\nThe true isolation
\nFelt beneath your feet<\/p>\n
Such undulation
\nThe genuineness
\nThe sky seems much closer
\nAnd an absence of stress
\nLifts the emotion
\nThe silence is stark
\nYour imagination
\nIs beginning to mark
\nOut a bold outline
\nOf where you will go
\nAnd what you will feel
\nFrom the long long ago<\/p>\n
How they got here
\nWho brought them
\nAnd why were they placed
\nHere these great circles
\nCan they be traced
\nBack to that era
\nThe Bronze age of sort
\nA time of great change
\nIn the way people thought<\/p>\n
For us to experience
\nOur life today
\nAnd go to this henge
\nThat, can blow us away
\nAll that feeling and emotion
\nIts just everywhere
\nThe cycle of life
\nIt hangs in the air<\/p>\n
Its uninterrupted
\nThe passage of time
\nIt flows like the wind
\nAnd now as we climb
\nPurposefully upwards
\nOur legs maybe do
\nFeel a bit of an ache
\nDid their legs feel that too?<\/p>\n
Dragging those sarsons
\nAnd all of their weight
\nPulling and stretching
\nNot much on their plate
\nUnder the sun
\nMan to man
\nThey would be
\nErecting a monument
\nFor all to see<\/p>\n
The vastness of scale
\nThe fullness of time
\nThe great overflowing
\nThe great need to climb
\nTo Carry and lift
\nSuch exertion and pain
\nIt enters your spirit
\nAgain and again
\nTo embrace this completely
\nIs to feel the desire
\nTo go back in time
\nWith a heart full of fire<\/p>\n
