\nLife’s experiences abroad
\nMary Bell born into Hell
\nExistence her reward<\/p>\n
A drunken aggressive father figure
\nA humbled prostitute mother
\nLiving in a ScottsWood slum
\nIn a family like no other<\/p>\n
There was little or no affection
\nWith isolation yours
\nAn untimeliness of circumstance
\nFor whatever cause<\/p>\n
A child born in this mayhem
\nSo much antipathy
\nWould probably go inside herself
\nA reactionary<\/p>\n
Inquisitive and adventurous
\nBut kind of lost at sea<\/p>\n
She created a kind of camouflage
\nIn the hope that she might break
\nThe bonds that tied her mentally
\nAnd for her own sake<\/p>\n
Developed an inventiveness
\nShe needed that to be
\nFor she saw herself as the youngest saddest
\nSoul in her family<\/p>\n
Battles unreported tore her home apart
\nSo switching off and entering her inner thoughts
\nWas a start
\nTo escaping all the vileness
\nAnd her wandering about
\nThe streets of old Newcastle
\nWas always worth a shout<\/p>\n
She lived in a place called ScottsWood
\nA slum worthy of naught
\nNeighbours mostly petty thieves
\nFor them their brand of sport<\/p>\n
You watched your back
\nYou feared the worst
\nAnd thus was where young Mary Bell
\nLived and felt accursed<\/p>\n
Who knows what sort of diet
\nShe had one can but guess
\nIt was bloody awful
\nImbalanced and full on stress<\/p>\n
The smell of puke and alcohol
\nAnd dogs mess everywhere
\nAnd her mothers frantic sexual bouts
\nTo augment family care<\/p>\n
And so young Mary streetwise
\nFound a friend in Norma bell
\nAn innocent little child next door
\nNot especially bright as well<\/p>\n
And the two got paired up
\nAnd Mary found her way
\nOf manipulating Norma
\nWho would look the other way<\/p>\n
And so herstory tells us
\nThese two began their jaunt
\nMary was very intelligent
\nAnd attractive and their haunt<\/p>\n
Was all around the area
\nAnd her big eyes came in play
\nPeople were drawn to look at her
\nBut then often look away<\/p>\n
She captivated people
\nAnd frightened people too
\nA cold stare put the wind up folks
\nShe was kind of sanpaku<\/p>\n
Mary killed two little boys
\nStrangled them Yes she
\nFavoured strangulation
\nFor her possibly<\/p>\n
She herself felt strangled
\nBy her circumstances there
\nAlways she was feeling
\nLike fighting coming up for air<\/p>\n
With her sidekick Norma
\nAnd her supremacy
\nA sort of puppet master
\nOf seniority<\/p>\n
She made all the decisions
\nNorma the supporting role
\nWhatever the reason
\nBoth little boys
\nLives were ended this their role<\/p>\n
In life to be suspended
\nThey were lost to kingdom come
\nMary always denied the crime
\nIn a way perhaps was numb<\/p>\n
To the principle of Murder
\nShe was lost in infamy
\nOf her circumstance a child recruit
\nIsolated tragically<\/p>\n
From reality whatever that was
\nUtterly Disengaged within
\nWhere there was only chaos
\nTranslated by some as sin<\/p>\n
And so began a sentence
\nIn another place
\nFor 12 years she was incarcerated
\nLost without a trace<\/p>\n
Remembering those little boys
\nThe victims so to say
\nStrangled thus prevented
\nTo breathe another day
\nThat inevitability
\nThat hope extinguished by
\nSomeone else’s hands around
\nYour throat
