We are the giants of this land called Earth
\nGentle natured, we
\nAre social animals much like you
\nAnd once were wild and free
\nOur land was rich and fertile
\nThe wild plants and wild trees
\nGave us natural sustenance
\nBut so few now hear our plea’s<\/p>\n
The two legs steal our precious lands
\nAnd tear down all the trees
\nPollute the pools and rivers
\nBring us to our knees
\nWith our sacred paths dug up
\nAnd concreted over our sanctity
\nIs being lost forever
\nWe are now no longer free<\/p>\n
And we have to say we are desperate
\nAs man edges closer, we
\nMove back its true with no where to go
\nBut graze now where they be
\nGrowing crops we need to eat
\nAll wild souls have to share
\nThe wild plants which is why
\nWe come why we do come there<\/p>\n
Electric fencing its of course
\nThe brand new big idea
\nOur massive weight and bulk
\nIs of no use
\nFor now our fear
\nOf being electrocuted
\nJust so we may eat
\nAlready 5 of our tribe are dead
\nThis idea has us beat<\/p>\n
Encroachment of our natural lands
\nBy two legs is a sin
\nIts wrong to take another’s land
\nIf we share then we all win
\nBut keeping us away from what is ours
\nIs sinful too
\nAnd poisoning our water
\nFor the ivory will not do<\/p>\n
We are basically gentle giants
\nWe have no need to kill
\nTwo legs we eat the vegetation
\nBlood we will not spill
\nBut two legs bring their arrogance
\nAnd their ignorance of us
\nTo bear they will not share
\nAnd the make such a fuss<\/p>\n
Kenya is our home of homes
\nAnd on its earth we roam
\nAlong the Kathila river
\nWhere the BANTU people comb
\nThe North Eastern slopes
\nIts prime terrain
\nOur movements they call invasion
\nWe are the indigenous too
\nOf gentle persuasion<\/p>\n
Despite our iconic nature
\nHistory shows us, we
\nHave to fear these two legs
\nFor all their infamy
\nWorking us exploiting us
\nBreaking us so they
\nCan entertain more two legs
\nWho actually come and pay<\/p>\n
To see us in the circus
\nOr perhaps in their zoo
\nStanding on the concrete
\nAnd giving rides to you
\nCapturing us and working us
\nWe become your slave
\nMahouts become our masters
\nAnd we have to just save<\/p>\n
Our faces every which way
\nIf we kill we know
\nThe rifles fire those bullets
\nThat in our bodies glow
\nWe become just fodder
\nFor the vultures who may fly
\nAnd the maggots who will strip our flesh
\nAnd the two legs by and by<\/p>\n
We come at night we try to be
\nQuiet and all we do
\nIs eat some food which all of us need
\nYes my friends even you
\nWhat if your shops were empty
\nWhat if your crops were gone
\nWhat if you had no food to eat
\nwould you just lie down upon
\nThe earth and wait for death to come
\nWait for the predators who
\nWould eat our flesh would indulge themselves
\nRemaining clueless to<\/p>\n
The path the true long path of life
\nThat creation set before
\nThe ancestral wealth is eternal
\nIts what we are, all here for
\nBut the two legs want our ivory
\nAnd enslave our gentleness
\nAnd murder us and fail us
\nAnd fill our world with stress<\/p>\n
The pachyderms are suffering
\nAnd few are there to see
\nTo hear us cry to see our sadness
\nAnd to try and be
\nSensitive to our predicament
\nTo our suffering to our woe
\nAll they want is what we have got
\nAnd just want us to go<\/p>\n
Leave this land called earth
\nFor them
\nTo plunder and pollute
\nTheir air to fill with filth and dirt
\nAnd all live souls to shoot
\nCanned hunt us and take our body parts
\nAs trophies for their wall
\nWe are now inclined to just lay down and die
\nAnd you can rule<\/p>\n
Your war torn radioactive lands
\nMined and fracked to death
\nAll your forests laid waste
\nAs your people fight for breath
\nThe oceans dying rapidly
\nBeaching everywhere
\nExtinctions coming daily
