Hunters conflate conservation
\nWith hunting
\nAn iniquitous paradigm
\nSolely suggesting
\nThat their belief system
\nIs somehow attesting
\nCanned hunting animals for
\nThe trophy wall
\nAnd who could want for more
\nThan the noblest and handsomest
\nSpecimen head
\nfor their great wall of victims
\nBounded in dread<\/p>\n
An equivocal character surely on call
\nWhere excuses abound
\nSuch souls made to fall
\nOnly the old wounded one’s far beyond
\nMating age
\nOnly their parts will have donned
\nThe walls of eternity
\nBut we all know
\nIt is not the bedraggled
\nBut the specimen show<\/p>\n
They lie to the world
\nTo themselves to us all
\nThey order their kill
\nAnd their blood then they spill
\nPetted as cubs farmed so they say
\nIn pens or in cages
\nThey while time away<\/p>\n
Their names go in order books
\nAnd then when they
\nAre removed from their cage
\nTo be shot on the day
\nThat the hunter arrives
\nEnclosed in that space
\nNo stalking no time lost
\nThis method so base
\nSo matter of fact
\nIts a great package deal
\nAn execution
\nWhich is for real<\/p>\n
Take Cecil the lion
\nLured out of his place
\nAnd shot with a bolt
\nThe result
\nA disgrace<\/p>\n
Many hours lying tortured
\nIn pain
\nThen shot by the dentist
\nThe next day
\nSuch strain<\/p>\n
Of wicked intent
\nOf unrighteousness
\nHis courage mis-spent
\nWithout the redress<\/p>\n
A complete lack of conscience
\nAn unscrupulousness
\nWhere is the justice
\nWe do feel the stress<\/p>\n
A terrible act of an uncaring
\nMan
\nWho punished a wonderful being
\nHis plan
\nTo cut off its head
\nAnd ship it back to
\nHis home in America
\nSo clueless too<\/p>\n
We were all up in arms
\nThe world as a whole
\nFelt all the agony
\nOf that poor soul
\nImposing such evil
\nSuch vile disdain
\nSuch condemnation
