A young ladies tears
\nAt the heaps of ash
\nFrom the ivory that was burned
\nSadness comes across us all
\nBut has the real world learned?
\nThe Elephant is a saviour
\nA Giant on this earth
\nAnd man who seeks to steal
\nHis ivory
\nhe of course gives birth
\nTo a mental subordination
\nSuch inferiority
\nDestructiveness and mischief
\nIts a catastrophe<\/p>\n
You feel her heart is torn away
\nEach utterance it be
\nTinged with tremendous sadness
\nThe absurdity
\nOf slaughtering the majestic
\nFor the ivory that we
\nMan unkind want and will kill
\nFor
\nThat insensibility<\/p>\n
Too many of them walk the earth
\nBlunderers in time
\nTheir mental instability
\nAlienates their climb
\nInto what is a morosis
\nSo delusional they be
\nAnd are manipulated
\nBy the inept who now be<\/p>\n
Out there representing
\nDealers of the dark
\nThe corporate world of psychopaths
\nWhose dealings clearly mark
\nA gibberish personified
\nAn ambiguity
\nThey misrepresent the obvious
\nIts perversion actually<\/p>\n
And the ash heaps they now smoulder
\nAll those giants all are gone
\nAfrica’s pyres are burning
\nAnd when the sun once shone
\nUpon the backs of the pachyderms
\nGreat beings of the plain
\nNow all we see are the charred remains
\nBlackened heaps of pain<\/p>\n
The tears we see she wipes away
\nWe feel her soul and woe
\nIt truly is tear jerking stuff
\nAs many of us know
\nNow its only the shadows
\nThe imagination we
\nRecall hearing those trumpets sound
\nFrom those who once walked free<\/p>\n
As ghosts rise from those ashes
\nTheir plaintive sobs we hear
\nIn the shadows crouch the poachers
\nOut of the darkness they appear
\nTo dart or shoot the majestic ones
\nAnd to hack their tusks away
\nBlood thirsty vampire people
\nWho surely soon will pay<\/p>\n
Our hearts are with the elephants
\nAnd with this young women who
\nThought to make a pendant
\nBut realised to do
\nThat would be unseemly
\nIt was an awful day
\nTo burn all of this ivory
