This street life
\nIs abominable
\nTraffic everywhere
\nPeople coming people going
\nNobody will even spare
\nA moment just to see me
\nSo insentient are they
\nNobody hears my whimper
\nThere is nobody to say<\/p>\n
Hello boy how are you?
\nNobody at all
\nI just dragged myself
\nOnto the street
\nNow trying to call
\nThe angels someone somewhere
\nA samaritan who might
\nSee me feel me care for me
\nOr I just may die tonight<\/p>\n
I wag my tail
\nThe last hope all my strength I need
\nTo wag my tail
\nBut it seems to fail
\nWill I ever succeed
\nIn making someone help me
\nSee me even they step over me walk around me
\nEvery sodding day<\/p>\n
My throat is sore like hell on earth
\nMy body racked and worn
\nInsects crawling all over me
\nMy flesh and skin are torn
\nMy breath is now fast weakening
\nI don’t know what to do
\nOne last prayer to the angels
\nBefore I break into<\/p>\n
The death roll into darkness
\nDespite the sun above
\nAll I want is someone
\nJust someone to love
\nSomeone who will pick me
\nUp
\nand hold me as if they care
\nSomeone who will love me
\nSomeone who is aware<\/p>\n
And then as if by magic
\nA young man did appear
\nHe looked at me he kneeled down
\nHe wiped away some fear
\nHe showed me he was caring
\nHe was gentle to me, he
\nPicked me up and loved me
\nHe showed me I could be<\/p>\n
Whole again he loved me
\nHe cleaned me and I was
\nIn his arms and feeling sore
\nBut happy just because
\nHe cared for me
\nA quality of life I have never had
\nA stranger came and showed me love
\nAnd though I was so sad<\/p>\n
I felt his love his blanket
\nOf dreams swept over me
\nHope had almost died a death
\nBut now perhaps I would see
\nA new life somewhere safer
\nCleaner where i could be
\nHappy and sharing and loving
\nMy life eternally<\/p>\n
Now I have recovered a lot
\nAnd I feel great
\nPeople still go about their lives
\nUncaring of others fate
\nMany wait around the place
\nReally just to die
\nBut if we really hope and affirm
\nWherever we lie<\/p>\n
The angels will come for us
\nAs this man did for me
\nAnd now I am on your face book page
\nAll of you can see
\nMy wagging tail my parlous state
\nMy big eyes pleading and
\nWhen The angel actually found

I know I am merely a mongrel
