The problems with the people
\nin so much, that some feel
\na garden must be tidy
\nand ship shape to appeal
\nmeasured lawns
\ngreat earth tracts
\nwith no wild plants
\nin sight
\nits an arrogance once again
\nand one that I fight.<\/p>\n
wild gardens are what
\nwe need and we must learn
\nfrom Nature,the forests
\nhow wildness does turn
\nsuch wondrous abundance
\nput there by the grace
\nof natural energies
\na psychic embrace<\/p>\n
vibrational energies
\nties in, with our
\nthe insects, the birds, the flora
\neach flower,
\nthe wild plants
\nthat some people have re named weeds
\nwho have failed to identify
\ntheir special deeds<\/p>\n
indications of balance
\nand imbalance too
\nof poor drainage
\ntoo dry, too alkaline
\nview
\nthe aridness and to
\njust realize
\nwild plants we must value
\nis that a surprise?<\/p>\n
Its a reason and man
\nwith his ignorant flair
\nbreaks his back
\nhe began
\nwith his poisons
\nunaware
\nto imbalance
\nthe biosphere
\nhe didn’t see
\nthe huge pharmaceuticals
\nfallibility<\/p>\n
for all is connected
\nconnected do you hear?
\nwe fail to remember
\nas kid’s when at school
\nwe sang the great hymn
\n“all things bright
\nand beautiful
\nall things great and small
\nall things wise and wonderful
\nGod made them all”<\/p>\n
we forgot and we sprayed
\nand we dug it all in
\nthe obnoxious stuff
\nwhat it said on the tin
\nwas it killed everything
\nand would continue to kill
\nthat is our debt
\nas their cries became shrill<\/p>\n
as the bee’s and the butterflies
\nsong birds and snails
\nslugs, yes they have a place
\ntheir path it fails
\nto register sadly, well that is until
\nthe Bee’s start a dying
\nas surely they will
\nthe ants and the ladybirds
\neach tiny soul
\nby our arrogant stance
\nand our ignorant role<\/p>\n
for life in the garden
\nand the forest elsewhere
\nour lust for that paper
\ncalled money…… despair
\nI despair, for we must
\ninject wildness again
\nleave the wild plants to grow
\nthere’s a reason
\nthe rain,
\nthe sunshine
\nthe wind the life force
\nis why
\nevery thing matters
\nunder the sky
\nall are connected
\nall, everything
\nthe cat and the dog and the birds
\non the wing
\nkilling and culling and trapping
\nit might
\ngive some a buzz
\nbut it bloody ain’t right!<\/p>\n
