You can feel the caring
\nThe familiarity
\nThere is wisdom in the knowing
\nAnd a readability
\nDereck calls the calf’s name
\n“Kham La”and we so see
\n“Darling”comes the sound of drums
\nIts where he wants to be<\/p>\n
With his human friend
\ntheir history
\nHis recollection of caring
\nAnd of sharing hauntingly
\nTantalisingly so
\nThe impact on his whereabouts
\nHe really wants to know<\/p>\n
Waiting on that favourite call
\nWhere ever he may be
\nExhilaration guaranteed
\nAnd pure vitality
\nAn elephant is gleeful
\nIs unrepining too
\nIt relieves me,
\nto write this down
\nWhen its so very true<\/p>\n
There is love and it is evident
\nIts lyrical and fun
\nReally an exultation
\nThat isn’t overdone
\nTheres affection
\nAnd theres friendship
\nAnd adoration too
\nAnd its wonderful to see it and
