Musing on a sheet of glass
\nThe image of such clarity
\nBefore my eyes a window to a world
\nThat just so many see
\nSimulating life and death
\nA parallel lets say
\nWhen considering the red blooded souls
\nWho faithfully display
\nSomething true to nature
\nAn adumbration for
\nThe analogy of reckoning
\nThat is part of natural Law<\/p>\n
The existence and the givenness
\nOf all life that we know
\nWhat is our potentiality
\nOur flesh and blood on show
\nIn essence we are similar
\nOur organs much the same
\nSimilar characteristics
\nAll from our ancestral flame<\/p>\n
An outwardness thats different
\nAnimals and man
\nBut all having that life force
\nAnd a probable life time plan
\nAn irreconcilability
\nA contrariness may be
\nOf course we have our differences
\nAnd a constancy<\/p>\n
We have our family likeness
\nWe are earthlings after all
\nWe are all created
\nWe answer the call
\nA consequence of harmony
\nAnd a supremacy of thought
\nA connectivity a family so to say
\nWhether animal or human earthling
\nWith our genesis we pay<\/p>\n
Each has the unique quality
\nThat life on earth provides
\nA predetermined tenancy
\nWhich in our marrow hides
\nThis is where the differences
\nEquate to lack of care
\nSubsisting on a regimen
\nThat sadly we don’t share<\/p>\n
Causation is a factor
\nThe author of our life
\nOur destiny is compromised
\nBy what is man made strife
\nWhich becomes a determinant
\nCompelling us to be
\nSubject to such powerlessness
\nAnd so we atrophy<\/p>\n
We all inhabit somewhere
\nRegardless of our size
\nSome choose the true wilderness
\nAnd that opens their eyes
\nTo freedoms unabated
\nAnd to dangers may be too
\nSimilarly in our cities
\nWe must fall in line
\nAnd do<\/p>\n
What is expected of us
\nIn our boxes on our streets
\nWe share the same vitality
\nWe have the same heart beats
\nThe vital spark the breath of life
\nThe symbiotic thread
\nBut somehow we forget this
\nWhich is now why we are led<\/p>\n
Further away from the animals
\nAnd their mortality
\nWe categorize their family groups
\nAnd their animality
\nIt drives a wedge between us
\nWell some of us lets say
\nWho abuse and use them tragically
\nIn a human way<\/p>\n
The creation of classes
\nSome human earthlings do
\nFit into the structure
\nLike the working classes who
\nOnly have their labour
\nA sub division they
\nSuffer in so many ways
\nAs the animals do today<\/p>\n
And groups have predetermined rulers
\nMatriarchal and patriarchal too
\nAnimals have an apparent respect
\nWhereas humans are clueless to
\nThe equality of reason
\nThe doubtfulness of thought
\nPrejudice it countermands
\nThe origin we sought<\/p>\n
Wisdom and no understanding
\nA trait we see today
\nA psychopathy thats growing
\nAn insanity some say
\nAll have varying reasons
\nTo be disappointed by
\nProfit and unconsciousness
\nAnd The equivalence of why<\/p>\n
We are driven many of us
\nBy the masters with their whips
\nWe are losing so much of our might
\nWhat now comes from our lips
\nIs often inexpressible
\nControl is all around
\nWe are creating victims
\nAnd in effect are being drowned<\/p>\n
In a fog of information
\nIt permeates our whole
\nMuch of it contains untruths
\nThe latency of soul
\nOf course life is our privilege
\nAll life is and should
\nBe sacrosanct and impervious
\nTo those who are never good<\/p>\n
But tragically the gap between
\nThe animals and man
\nIs widening and their husbandry
\nIs part of humanities plan
\nTo consume them is the path most walk
\nSo the suffering remains
\nLittle love and care alas
\nDriven on tight reins<\/p>\n
As man traduces other men
\nWhat role do animals play
\nJoyless dreary cheerless lives
\nUntil death comes their way
\nIts hard to see a light
\nBeyond the tunnels of despair
\nIts really far beyond my life
\nTo imagine that man will care<\/p>\n
And actually see the animals
\nIn a similar light
\nWill see them as his teachers
\nAnd understand their right
\nTo walk to swim to fly to crawl
\nTo speak their varying ways
\nAnd to come together as earthlings should
\nAnd together raise<\/p>\n
Their incarnation upwards
\nAccepting of each others worth
\nLearning from each other
\nAnd so protect this earth
\nMinimise all suffering
\nOn every level be
\nSharing and be caring
